With permission from the family, it is with great sadness we must announce the following.

John Lowes
Passed away peacefully on Saturday 18th July 2026 at the Cumberland Infirmary. John aged 79 years. Beloved husband of Susan, loving dad of Adam and Samantha, a treasured granda of Lois, Fern, Scarlett and George. John was very much loved by all his family and friends.
Funeral Service to be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Friday 31st July at 11am. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory of John will be divided between Guide Dogs For The Blind and Rheumatoid Arthritis Association. All enquiries to Dawn Evans Funeral Directors 41-43 Warwick Road, Carlisle. John Hewitson
Passed away on Wednesday 8th July 2026 at the Cumberland Infirmary surrounded by his loving family. A much loved partner of Karen, dearest brother of Brian, David and Carol.
John will be very sadly missed by all his family and many friends.
Funeral service to be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Tuesday 21st July at 11-40am.

Doreen Skelton (Dodo) formally Thompson, aged 88 years
Passed away peacefully at the Eden Valley Hospice on Saturday 11th July 2026. A dearly loved wife of the late Harry. A devoted, much loved and loving mam of Judith and Peter, also a wonderful mother in law of Mike and Marie.
Doreen will be greatly missed by all her loving family and her many dear friends.
Funeral service to be held at Carlisle Crematorium on Friday 24th July at 1pm. Family flowers only by request, donations in memory of Doreen to go towards the continued work of the Eden Valley Hospice.

HAZEL NORMAN aged 89 years.
Passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Infirmary on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 with her loving family by her side. A much loved wife of the late Stanley, dearly loved mam of Eric, John and Helen. Dearest mother in law of Elaine, Helen and Tam. Also a devoted grandma and great grandma.
Hazel will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Funeral service to be held at St. Michael's Church, Burgh by Sands on Friday 10th July at 12-30pm followed by a committal service at Carlisle Crematorium at 1-40pm.
Family flowers only by request donations in memory of Hazel to the Eden Valley Hospice.

Keith, James, Sophie and all the family would like to thank all relatives, friends and neighbours for the kind expressions of sympathy, kindness and support, cards, phone calls and flowers received during their recent very sad loss of a much loved wife, mum, nanna and mother in law. A special thank you to everyone who joined the family at the service and gave so generously in support of Sarcoma UK. Grateful thanks to The Crown Hotel, Wetheral for the refreshments and finally a sincere thank you to Rev. Sandy Jamieson-Barr for his beautiful words.
