Hay Fever Advice

We understand how difficult hay fever can be — many of us suffer with it too, and we know just how much it can impact your day-to-day life.

However, we’d like to remind patients that hay fever can usually be managed effectively through the Pharmacy First service. Community pharmacists are highly trained and can offer expert advice and a wide range of treatments without needing a GP appointment.

It’s important to note that the surgery does not have access to any specialist or stronger medications that “cure” hay fever. The treatments we can prescribe are the same as those available over the counter (such as antihistamines, nasal sprays, and eye drops). Your pharmacist can help you choose the most suitable option for your symptoms.

At 2:00pm, our phone lines will divert to NHS 111 for any patient that requires urgent assistance.
We will re‑open tomorrow morning at our usual time.

This includes sprains, cuts/wounds, minor burns, suspected broken bones, and similar injuries.

From 14 January 2026, our GP practice will be moving our online triage system to Accurx. This means when you submit a request through our website, the website and form may look slightly different. However, the process remains simple and secure, and you can continue to access care in the same way.
Accurx is a trusted NHS-approved platform designed to make communication between patients and practices easier and more efficient. This change will help us streamline requests and improve response times.

From Monday 12 January, Carluke Treatment Room will be offering the Bloods and go drop-in service. This is in addition to the drop-in service already available at Lanark Treatment Room.
