RCGP Wales in collaboration with British Society of Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine (BSPRM) - Neurodiversity & Neurorehabilitation in Primary Care Conference

RCGP Wales presents its first Neurodiversity & Neurorehabilitation in Primary Care Conference on 5 October 2026, at Cardiff City Stadium.

Given that approximately 15% of the population has a diagnosed neurodiverse condition (not including those awaiting assessment) and that the complex management of neurorehabilitation patients often falls to GPs to manage, this event is designed to navigate those areas. A full day programme will be delivered by consultant experts in the field of primary care and rehabilitation medicine.

Topics will include neurodiversity amongst GP trainees, management of complex neuro-rehabilitation in primary care, and bridging the gap between primary and secondary care. This day also provides the opportunity to network with local GPs who have an interest in neurodiversity, as well as the consultants within the neurorehabilitation team.

🌿 Wellbeing Webinar – with Canopi 🌿

Finding Help: Supporting Doctors' Mental Health, with Canopi

Accessing care through healthcare systems can feel challenging at times, even for those working within them.
For doctors, the challenge of disclosing a mental health related concern can feel particularly difficult, yet this first step is often a crucial enabler to helping us move forward and opening the potential for recovery

Canopi is a service that has over 15 years of experience in supporting Doctors by providing a confidential, free, mental health support service

Join the service’s Co-directors and one of their Doctor Advisors to explore:

• The essence of safe disclosure – what does the system need to do?
• Experiences of disclosure – the effects and consequences of sharing
• Why it is important to feel able to have risk-related conversations

While this session is being delivered by clinicians working in a Wales-based organisation, the insights will be relevant for healthcare colleagues in both Wales and the Republic of Ireland. We will share relevant RoI signposting 📌

Applications for the RCGP Cymru Wales Leadership Programme 2027 have now been extended until 31 August 2026. The programme will be taking place in North Wales.

Running since 2011, the programme supports GPs to develop the confidence, skills and vision to lead change, influence policy and strengthen the voice of general practice. Participants will explore practical approaches to leadership within a supportive learning environment.
