🌿 Could Wednesday mornings become your favourite part of the week? 🌿

I’m looking to welcome a few new faces to my 90-minute Gentle Hatha Yoga class at Spital Pavilion, Castle Donington, on Wednesdays from 10:00–11:30am.

This isn’t a fast-paced fitness class. It’s a gentle, supportive space where you can slow down, move mindfully and give your body the care it deserves.

You don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need experience.
You don’t need the “perfect yoga body.”

Many of my students come because they’re living with aches and pains, stiffness, stress, hypermobility, arthritis, or simply because they want to feel stronger, calmer and more connected to their bodies.

Each week we explore a different area of the body, learning why it behaves the way it does and how gentle movement, breath and relaxation can help. We always finish with a deeply restorative relaxation, leaving you feeling lighter in both body and mind.

If you’ve been thinking, “I’d love to try yoga, but…” then this class was created for people exactly like you.

💚 Wednesdays
🕙 10:00–11:30am
📍 Spital Pavilion, Castle Donington

If you’d like to know more, or you’d like to book a place, just send me a message. I’d love to welcome you to our lovely little community.

🌿 Understanding Your Body Through Yoga – Week 4 🌿

Pelvis & Hips – Finding Stability, Freedom & Balance

Our pelvis and hips form the foundation of almost every movement we make. They support the spine, help us balance, and allow us to walk, bend, reach and move through everyday life with ease.

The hips can help reduce unnecessary strain on the lower back.

As always, we’ll move mindfully, take time to understand why we’re doing each movement, and finish with a deeply relaxing guided meditation.

✨ Suitable for all abilities.
✨ No previous yoga experience needed.
✨ Come exactly as you are.

🗓️ Wednesday
🕙 10:00–11:30am

You don’t need flexible hips to join this class - just a willingness to move with curiosity and kindness towards your body. 💚

I look forward to sharing the final week of this series with you. 💚

🌿 Understanding Your Body Through Yoga – Week 3 🌿

The Lumbar Spine – Creating Space & Ease

Many people think they have a “bad back”, but often the lower back is simply working far harder than it was designed to.

This week we’ll be exploring the lumbar spine - the five vertebrae that support the weight of the upper body and help us bend, lift and move through everyday life.

Together we’ll discover how improving movement in the hips, breathing more effectively and building gentle stability can help reduce unnecessary tension in the lower back.

Our practice will include:

✨ Breath awareness to support the deep core
✨ Gentle joint freeing movements
✨ Accessible yoga postures to improve mobility and stability
✨ Relaxation with chakra singing bowls
✨ Simple tips to take into everyday life

Whether you’re living with back pain, stiffness, hypermobility, or simply want to understand your body better, this class is designed to help you move with more confidence and ease.

🌿 Understanding Your Body Through Yoga – Week 2 🌿

This Wednesday, we’re moving into the thoracic spine — the middle section of the spine that connects closely with the rib cage, breath, shoulders and upper back.

We’ll explore how stiffness through this area can affect the way we move and breathe, and use gentle yoga practices to create a little more space, mobility and ease.

Expect:

✨ Gentle movements for the upper and middle back
✨ Rib cage awareness and breath work
✨ Shoulder and chest opening
✨ Twists and side bends
✨ A calming guided relaxation to help everything settle

As always, the class will be gentle, accessible and adaptable. You don’t need any previous yoga experience, and you don’t need to be flexible.

All are welcome. Come as you are. 💛

✨ This week in yoga… Vijnanamaya Kosha – The Wisdom Body ✨

Over the last few weeks we’ve been exploring the five Koshas – the layers of our being beyond the physical body.

This week we arrive at Vijnanamaya Kosha, often known as the Wisdom Body.

This isn’t about knowledge or intelligence. It’s about that quiet inner voice that gently guides us. The part of us that knows when we need to rest, when we need to keep going, when something feels right… and when it doesn’t.

So often in life we ignore that wisdom. We push through exhaustion, dismiss pain, compare ourselves to others, or believe we should be able to do more.

Yoga reminds us to pause and listen.

Every posture becomes an opportunity to ask:

💚 What do I need today?

Not yesterday.
Not next week.
Not what anyone else is doing.

Just today.

This week’s class will combine mindful movement, breathwork and a deeply reflective guided meditation to help us reconnect with that quiet place of inner knowing that has been there all along.

I can’t wait to share this beautiful practice with you all.

🧘‍♀️ Remember, there is no perfect pose; only the practice of learning to trust yourself.

🧘‍♀️ Happy International Yoga Day 🧘‍♀️

When people think of yoga, they often picture bendy bodies and impossible poses.

But after 12 years of teaching, I’ve learned that yoga is so much more than that.

Yoga is the deep breath you take when life feels overwhelming.
It’s the kindness you show yourself on a difficult day.
It’s learning to listen to your body instead of fighting against it.
It’s finding moments of calm in a busy world.

I’ve taught people in their 20s and their 90s, people living with chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, neurodivergence, grief, and stress. Time and time again I’ve seen that yoga isn’t about what your body can do, it’s about how you feel when you leave.

As many of you know, my own body has taught me some important lessons this year. Living with hypermobility disorder and chronic pain has reminded me that yoga isn’t about pushing harder; it’s about moving with awareness, compassion and acceptance.

So today, whether you’re flowing through a full practice, taking a mindful walk, sitting quietly with a cup of tea, or simply pausing to take a conscious breath, know that you’re already embodying the heart of yoga.

Thank you to every student who has shared this journey with me. ❤️

What has yoga taught you?
