Tony’s story is a beautiful reminder that a new chapter can bring new friendships, new experiences and a renewed sense of belonging. ❤️

After 48 years of marriage, Tony found that living alone following the loss of his wife became increasingly difficult. At Signature at Caversham, he has found the balance he was looking for: independence, companionship and the reassurance that there’s always someone around.

“You can live your own life here. You keep your routine and your independence, but you’re never on your own.”

Our residents were invited to join an informative presentation on 'The Financial Crash' delivered by our very own activities team member Tom.

Tom, who is studying a masters in digital marketing and quantitative analytics at university also has a passion for business and finance. He shared his extensive knowledge in this subject which helped our residents in attendance to be more aware of what is going on in the world rather than what they just see on the TV.

Tom’s presentation was primarily centred on how the 2008 financial crisis happened and what the aftermath was, looking at the banks, the investment pipeline and more. A large section at the end was centred on looking at what's different today and whether we'll see another crash in the near future.

Residents commented that 'they were able to relate to this by gaining an understanding of difficulties that family members and loved ones might face in today's financial world, particularly those whom hold power of attorney.

If you could choose a headliner for a music festival, who would you prefer to see? Let us know in comments. 👇

On Friday, Signature at Caversham resonated with vibrant musical 🎸energy as we celebrated the annual Reading Festival. The afternoon was enriched with extraordinary performances from our community and beyond.

We began with the remarkable John, a cherished family member who delights us with his entertainment Signature at Caversham. Our receptionist, Jayson, also stepped in for a song during John's set, though we missed capturing a photo. Following John was the gifted Oliver. While John is beloved by our residents, they eagerly anticipate Oliver's return, impressed by his emerging talent and keen to get autographs before his star rises further.

As the weather shifted 🌦, artists performed in our indoor entertainment space. This included our own beloved Priya, whom many of you already know. Today, our residents were joined by family and friends for a wonderful afternoon of musical entertainment, with an excellent flute performance from the talented Pippa. 🎶🪈

The gentle sound of the flute can create a calming and relaxing atmosphere, making it a lovely way for our residents to enjoy music together and share a special afternoon with their loved ones.

And, of course, the cheese and wine accompaniment certainly helped to make the afternoon even more enjoyable! 🧀🍷

On Monday 10th August, we celebrated Afternoon Tea Week in truly elegant style with our Afternoon Tea with a Twist.

Residents, family members and guests from our local community gathered for a beautiful afternoon of refined treats, wonderful company and refreshing iced tea. The atmosphere was relaxed and wonderfully elegant, creating a special occasion for everyone to enjoy. 🌸

Our talented team of expert chefs lovingly made every delicious creation from scratch, with each treat thoughtfully prepared to accommodate a variety of dietary needs — ensuring that everyone could indulge and be part of the celebration.

We were also delighted that guest fees included a donation to Age UK Reading, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful afternoon while supporting such a valuable local charity.

A truly delightful afternoon, filled with friendship, indulgence and a little touch of luxury. 💕🍰🧊
