The Growing Importance of Inclusive Physical Activity

Many older adults or individuals with mobility challenges are excluded from traditional sports and fitness programmes. Yet movement remains critically important for maintaining health, confidence and independence.
Seated sports provide accessible, adaptable physical activity that allows participants to remain active regardless of mobility level.

Activities can include seated football, netball, cricket-inspired games, target challenges and team competitions, all designed to encourage movement in a safe and supportive environment.

The benefits of regular seated exercise include:
Improved circulation
Increased mobility and flexibility
Better coordination
Reduced stiffness and joint discomfort
Enhanced cardiovascular health
Increased energy levels

Importantly, seated sports remove the intimidation factor often associated with fitness activities. Participants can engage at their own pace while still experiencing the excitement and camaraderie of sport.

The Big Conversation on Care

The Prime Minister has asked Baroness Casey to lead an independent review of adult social care and recommend what needs to change. As part of this, they want to hear from people across the country.
Whether you use care services, care for someone, work in adult social care, provide services, or simply have views about what the future of adult social care should look like, your voice matters.
Your experiences, whether positive, challenging, current or from the past, can help shape recommendations that will inform the future of adult social care.
Together, we can help build a system that is fairer, more sustainable, and delivers the care and support people deserve.
Take part in the Big Conversation and share your views here: https://caseycommission.co.uk/bigconversation/take-part/

Please share this post so more people have the opportunity to have their say.
