Funding issues again - more devastating news for our NHS knee replacement patients. This will certainly cause further significant delay and added frustration for this cohort of NHS patients, many of whom were about to be ‘referred’ or are already ‘in the system’ awaiting effective and quality of life changing knee replacement surgery

I have already received numerous enquiries about self funding treatment in the private sector from desperate patients keen to receive surgery and regain their quality of life

Some have been able to take advantage of the 0% interest finance package available at the Wessex Nuffield Hospital in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire - where the cost of private treatment can be spread out into affordable monthly payments

Documents seen by BBC show hospitals being ordered to slow down on activity to help balance the books.
