Emergency Services Day

Today we’re taking a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible people who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

From our police officers and firefighters to our ambulance crews, paramedics, call handlers and all those working behind the scenes, your dedication, courage and compassion make a difference every single day.

At Gillingham Grange, we are proud to recognise and celebrate the emergency services and the vital role they play in our community.

Thank you for always being there when we need you most.

And, don't forget, our very first Blue Light Breakfast is taking place here on Friday 28th September 8.30am-midday - SPREAD THE WORD!

Last week, we were thrilled to deliver our first haul of pet food donations to the wonderful team at Ferne Animal Sanctuary! 🐶🐱🐰

A HUGE thank you to everyone who has generously donated so far. Your kindness is helping support animals who need a little extra love and care 🥰🐾

But we’re not stopping there! Our pet food collection box will remain in the foyer here at Gillingham Grange, so if you’d like to donate, please keep those generous contributions coming! Every tin, bag and packet makes a difference🐕🐈❤️

And another huge thank you to our brilliant Kitchen Assistant, Zoe, who kindly baked a delicious sponge cake to donate to Ferne’s annual dog show fundraiser! 🎂🐶

We hope the cake helped raise a few extra pennies for such a fantastic cause, and we’re sure it went down a treat! 😋❤️

Last week, our brilliant Trevor took us on a bus trip to Monks Yard for coffee, cake and a little look around! 🥰

We had such a fantastic time and really enjoyed getting out and about in the community, enjoying some lovely treats and spending time together ❤️

A huge thank you, as always, to Trevor at Myley for taking us, and to Monks Yard for welcoming us and having us! 🌟

Louise has always worked in care settings and has a wealth of experience, including supporting adults with additional needs. Her passion for caring and helping others shines through in everything she does 🥰

Louise loves working at Gillingham Grange because she says she has the pleasure of working alongside a great team, as well as enjoying a fantastic work/life balance 💙

When Louise isn’t at work, she loves spending quality time with her family, who are incredibly important to her ❤️

💚 WE NEED YOUR HELP! 💚

We’ve taken on the St Margaret's Somerset Hospice £50 Challenge and we’re ready to see just how far we can make our £50 go! 💷✨

The challenge is simple… turn £50 into £100, £200… or even MORE!

All of the money raised, including the original £50, will be donated back to St Margaret’s Hospice Care, helping them continue the incredible work they do supporting local people and their families. 💚

Now we need YOUR ideas! 💡

What could we do at Gillingham Grange to turn our £50 into a much bigger amount? A fun activity, a fundraiser, a challenge, a sale… we want to hear all your suggestions!

In honour of a slightly belated International Dog Day, Creative Mojo Axminster, Sidmouth, Lyme, Bridport & Weymouth created this wonderful dog park collage, featuring lots of gorgeous pups lovingly painted by our talented residents! 🐶❤️

The activity gave us the perfect opportunity to chat about our much-loved pets, past and present, and reminisce about the special memories we’ve shared with our furry friends 🥰

From childhood pets to loyal companions who have been part of our lives for many years, there were plenty of stories, smiles and happy memories shared 🐕🐾

A lovely afternoon celebrating the special place animals have in our hearts! ❤️

🧠🃏 Fun, laughter and keeping our minds active!

Some of the best activities are those that bring a little bit of fun while also giving our brains a workout! This week, our card games and dominoes have been a big hit.

There was plenty of friendly competition, lots of laughter and, of course, a few very determined players! 😄

Activities like these are a great way to keep our minds active, encourage conversation and enjoy some quality time together ❤️

Another fantastic morning exercise session completed yesterday! 🎶👏 Our residents got moving, had fun and started the day with plenty of energy!

We got our bodies moving, enjoyed some funky tunes and, most importantly, had lots of laughs along the way!

It’s amazing how music can lift our mood, get us moving and bring everyone together❤️
