The Company has helped a family to arrange the most unusual funeral service.

A family called to ask about arranging a funeral, and after some discussion, it was agreed that the "traditional funeral service" was completely wrong. Likewise an awful non funeral "direct cremation" was equally wrong.

What could we do for this really very lovely family.

It involved a field, and straw bales!

I'll post the full description as no names will be mentioned and it was not in the last six months. But it was amazing! If there appears to be some interest in finding out what we did.

I am almost speechless with excitement. Our amazing Emma has been nominated for the award of Funeral Director of the Year, in the Good Funeral Director Awards. Anyone can continue to nominate her. It will only help her achieve her rightful place (we all think) of funeral director of the year. Emma. We love you! Go girl!!!

For all those odd people who go in to the office to visit Boo, sorry to tell you that he is on holiday for a while. (Couple of years if I’m very lucky) He turns out to be quite handy behind the bar. I think Emma went to Blackpool but Boo went the other way and ended up in Barbados Beach Bar.

We were entrusted to perform a truly bespoke service yesterday of Winnie Woo (can’t use real names here). She was an elderly lady with quite a style of her own. Definitely one not to be over looked, she had her wishes totally fulfilled. The family have very kindly said we can use the following photos to illustrate what can be done if you have the courage to “go for it”.

“This way up you plonker” clearly visible at the head end of the coffin. And covered in shots from the tv series best loved episodes. Shoes are nicely polished boys! 😉

Del Boys van isn’t actually long enough to take a coffin, and no, we definitely don’t put these on the roof! So there is a bespoke matching trailer in true Del style.
