I 💚 the title of this month’s OT News. Throughout my career as an occupational therapist, I’ve often been described as “quiet” and “gentle” not always as a compliment. At times, that has been difficult to hear. However, after almost 25 years of experience as an OT, I’ve come to recognise that gentleness and the ability to truly listen are essential qualities of effective leadership. They are the foundations for building trust and creating meaningful, lasting transformation for the young people and families I work with. I love the quiet power of OT!

Such a privilige to share Epiphany’s beautiful music with the MSc (Pre Registration) Occupational Therapy students at MMU. The students were able to emmerse themselves in the music, which enhanced their wellbeing and nervous system regulation. It also provided creative insights into how Occupational Therapist's can use music in treatment interventions. This links nicely to the RCOT OT News article this month on ‘Empowering patient agency through sound’ pg. 22. 💚🎶🎶
