Two cakes, Prosecco and dancing… the only proper way to celebrate turning 94! 🥳🎂🥂

We had such a wonderful afternoon celebrating Barbara’s birthday on Sunday, complete with party hats, decorations, plenty of music and lots of smiles and laughter.

What a fabulous day we had celebrating Court House Retirement Home’s 40th anniversary — 40 years since Court House was founded 🎉🥂

It was wonderful to share such a special afternoon with our residents and their families, our staff and their families, the local tradespeople who have supported us over the years — including our butcher and milkman — and the families of residents who have lived with us in years gone by. It meant so much to see everyone there.

The weather was absolutely superb, and the wonderful Patrick kept us entertained throughout the afternoon. 🎶☀️

Kristy created the most incredible feast for us, including homemade quiches, pavlovas, chocolate desserts and cheesecakes that were simply to die for! 🍰

A huge thank you to all our wonderful staff. You always work incredibly hard, but you went above and beyond to make the day so special and to cater so beautifully for more than 100 guests.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped us celebrate this wonderful milestone. It truly was a fantastic day and one we will remember for many years to come. 💛

From memories… to the gallery walls. 🫶🏻

A few months ago, Margaret, Wendy, Diana and Aileen shared stories about treasured objects and the memories attached to them as part of a community project organised by Museum To You, with Hauser & Wirth Somerset.

Last week, we returned to see the finished Education Lab: Echoes, alongside Angel Otero’s beautiful exhibition, Agua Salada. Seeing our residents’ contributions become part of an exhibition exploring memory, people and place made the visit even more meaningful. 🥰

There was plenty to discover, wonderful conversations about the artwork, and lots of quiet moments simply taking it all in. We also enjoyed getting creative in the Education Lab, making our own colourful postcards inspired by the exhibition, before finishing the afternoon with a stroll around the beautiful gardens in the sunshine. 🌿🎨☀️

Thank you to everyone at Hauser & Wirth and the Museum To You team for such a warm welcome - we had a lovely afternoon. ❤️

Flowers that will never fade. 🌸

Paints, crayons, creativity and a little imagination were all that was needed for a lovely afternoon of arts and crafts.

Every card was completely different, and I loved seeing each resident put their own personality into their designs. There were plenty of smiles and lots of laughter along the way too! 🥰

These beautiful flowers were hand-picked from the Court House gardens by Chris and have taken pride of place in our lounge. ❤️

Residents have loved stopping to admire the colours and enjoy a little taste of the garden from the comfort of indoors. 🥰🌿

A quiet afternoon recently with some music, a table full of colours, and plenty of creativity. 🎨💕

Our residents had a lovely time designing their own bookmarks, choosing different patterns, colours and tassels to make each one their own. 📚✨

A room full of kings and queens. 👑❤️

To mark the King’s Official Birthday last Saturday, our residents enjoyed a royal banquet complete with crowns, a celebratory toast, decorated tables, fascinating facts and a fab homemade trifle made by Angie to finish. 🍓❤️

There may not have been an invitation to Buckingham Palace… but we had lots of fun anyway. 👑 🥂✨

👑☕ High Tea for a King ☕👑

Yesterday afternoon we hosted a special royal High Tea, with flower crowns, afternoon tea, royal trivia and plenty of smiles. 🌸🇬🇧

We were also treated to a wonderful performance from Maria, helping to make the afternoon feel extra special. 🥰

Judging by the laughter, conversation and royal photo opportunities, I think it was a success! ❤️
