It’s hard to explain how great it feels to know you’re making a difference, no matter how tiny that difference might be in the grand scheme of things! We set out on our Year of the Defib challenge with a goal of raising public confidence in defibrillator use. Receiving feedback like this lets us know we’re on the right track.
A huge thank you to Wedmore Village Hall and all who gave up their time to attend last week’s training. It was a bustling and heartwarming evening!

With the heightened risk of heart issues during summer, having access to defibrillators and being able to use them is more important than ever.

Every year only 9% of out of hospital cardiac arrests in the UK receive defibrillator help before emergency services arrive. Reflex First Aid Trainers are giving FREE awareness training to EVERYONE. Relaxed and informal session and suitable for ages 14+ years, younger children with adults welcome too.

CAN YOU HELP US?
We're collecting old, unwearable tops for our FREE Year of the Defib training sessions in 2026. If you're in Cheddar or nearby, please consider donating any tops you're about to throw away. Drop us a message and we'll arrange collection. Once used in our training, the tops will either be reused (where possible) or repurposed to avoid waste.

One of the highlights of our job is getting the chance to train people from all walks of life. We had the pleasure of training Zosie from , who brings a love for the outdoors to everything she does. Whether she's leading nature walks or running willow weaving classes, she understands the importance of being prepared.
