August, offline ☀️
I took the whole of August off Instagram. No posting, no content planning and, for once, no thinking about what I should be sharing.
Instead, I went to Portugal, Latitude, had family time, danced, swam and took lots of photos. ❤️
There were dusty festival feet, solo sunrise swims because nobody else in my family was prepared to get up that early 😂, incredible Lisbon street art by OzeArv and Shepard Fairey, olive trees, beautiful beaches, an obsession with those giant dried seed heads I kept seeing everywhere… and far too many photos of sunrises and sunsets because apparently I’ll never get bored of either.
Mostly, though, I had time to notice things again.
And I think that’s something we can lose when we’re constantly creating, consuming, posting and thinking about what comes next.
Creativity needs us to go out and live too. To see new things. Hear music. Dance. Swim in the sea. Be with people we love. Get bored. Put our phones down. And give our brains some space.
I definitely needed the break and I’ve come back feeling inspired, energised and ready for a new season. ✨
