🇬🇧🐣 Our wonderful My Homecare Team came together for a special get-together celebrating both VE Day and Easter!

It was a lovely afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and of course, delicious scones with jam and clotted cream (and yes, the cream vs. jam debate made an appearance! 😉).

While we enjoyed the Easter cheer, we also took a moment to reflect on the significance of VE Day — a time to honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who served during World War II. It’s so important to remember and pay tribute to the generations who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today. 🇬🇧❤️

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the day so special. We’re proud to work alongside such a caring, compassionate team. 💙

We were delighted to attend the Essex Mid Provider Forum, an invaluable opportunity to connect with fellow care providers, share insights, and discuss the future of home care in our community.

A special thank you to Alison Ansell, Simon Harniess, and the Essex County Council team for their support and for facilitating such an informative and engaging session. Your dedication to improving care services across Essex is truly appreciated!

The more providers that attend, the more support we can give each other, and that’s something truly special. By coming together, we can share knowledge, strengthen our services, and make a real difference in the lives of those we care for. 💙

And of course, we can’t forget to mention the lovely cakes on supply—a sweet treat to top off a fantastic event! 🍰☕

TEAM SPOTLIGHT - RACHEL

This week, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Rachel, one of our amazing team members here at My Homecare Chelmsford!

Since joining us, Rachel has made a real impact on both our team and the service users she supports.

Her kind and compassionate nature doesn’t go unnoticed. One service user shared:

"I just wanted to let you know how much mum is enjoying Rachel’s visits! She talks about her all the time, it’s really made a difference. Please pass our thanks on, she’s doing a great job with Mum 👍."

Rachel’s journey inspiring. When she first started, she didn’t think she could juggle work and study, but with determination – and support from My Homecare Chelmsford – she’s thriving. She’s currently working her way through a Health and Social Care course, gaining qualifications to take her career to the next level.

We’re proud of everything Rachel has achieved and grateful for the dedication she brings to her role every day which has earned her Carer of the Year 2023 and 2024 as voted for by the team and our lovely Ssrvice Users. Let’s all give Rachel a big round of applause! 👏

Are you a compassionate, reliable, and experienced carer looking for a rewarding role? We are searching for a Live-In Carer to provide dedicated support in Chelmsford, Essex for 1 week every month.

About the Role:
You’ll be living with and supporting a kind and lovely individual in their own home, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
- Personal care and assistance with daily living
- Preparing meals and light household tasks
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Administering medication and supporting mobility (as needed)

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a carer (live-in experience is a bonus)
- Kind, patient, and empathetic nature
- Good communication skills
- Right to work in the UK
- DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Flexibility and a positive attitude
