I’ve been noticing this low level anxiety creeping up lately.

The kind that comes when you have said yes to one thing too many, starting doing all the jobs rather than saying ‘no sorry, I can’t do anymore right now.’

And then I feel it. This sense of being hyper-alert, like my brain is on all the time. It’s frustrating as I feel like I’ve left this version of myself behind, done the work on this.

But it will probably always feel like a comfortable groove to come back to.

Except I won’t let it go further. I can tap through the weight of what’s rising, get some clarity. See what’s underneath it. Reframe. See more clearly.

This little EFT tapping practice is an introduction to cutting through the noise. Even just doing the tapping sequence and focusing on your breathing can feel soothing.

Give it a go and let me know how you get on âŹ‡ïž

And if you are ready to dive deeper into how EFT can support you personally, comment READY and I ll send you a link to book a free discovery call.

I can really put myself through it at the start of the week.

I love being productive and having some ideas and plans for the week ahead, but if Im not careful that can mean putting way too much pressure and too many expectations on myself.

Sometimes this little practice reminds me that I don’t have to achieve it all in seven days. In fact, it’s usually pretty unrealistic and leaves little to no space for anything else.

Making space for myself in amongst working, living and all of the inbetween is important.

Try this little meditation practice on the breath and see how you feel. It always reminds me that I don’t have to constantly operate at my full capacity. I can, and I will, make more space for joy.

Save this as one to come back to whenever you need it.

Anyone else find their head is like this?

One thing that rarely gets said when we talk about overwhelm, is how hard it is to break the cycle.

If anything, staying in the familiar spiral feels easier than the alternative.

As if you don’t spin all the plates and do all the things, how else will it get done?

For years I would say yes to everything, with very little thought as to what that really meant.

How it would leave me feeling energy wise, or how I could manage it all.

I would simply add more to the pile and keep adapting. Keep pushing the boundary of what I could manage.

Feeling the weight of it all constantly just felt like normal living.

It wasn’t until I hit burnout (a few times) that I realised that this couldn’t continue.

It wasn’t that I couldn’t do all the things.

It was that I never seemed to know how much was too much to have on my shoulders.

And when I got to that point, it would only take something small to be added to the pile, like baking cakes for another school fair, that would send everything toppling around me.

If breaking the cycle of overwhelm feels like something else to add to your to do list, please know it doesn’t have to be that way.

Starting small is where it begins. Small practices that can be interwoven in your day that show you what space is possible.

They are what lead to the bigger realisations.

Like knowing how much is enough and how much will leave you feeling like you’re completely overwhelmed.

Or what saying yes to something else really means for your mental load.

Practices like EFT tapping are a great way to help make sense of it all. It works like a brain hack that takes you out of the doing it all that you might have become accustomed to.

It gives you some space to see all that you have been holding and doing. Gently inquires to why that is.

And then helps you reprogramme that pattern.

Comment ME and I will send you a free EFT practice for overwhelm.
