What could become possible if anxiety stopped making so many of your decisions?

Perhaps you would accept the invitation instead of finding a reason not to go.

Speak up without rehearsing every sentence first.

Book the appointment you have been avoiding.

Travel without spending weeks imagining everything that could go wrong.

Make decisions without repeatedly questioning yourself afterwards.

Anxiety can gradually make your world smaller, not because you lack courage, but because your unconscious mind has learned to treat certain situations as unsafe.

Hypnotherapy works with the beliefs, associations and protective responses beneath that anxiety, helping your mind respond to what is happening now rather than what it has learned to fear.

I offer a free 45-minute online consultation where you can tell me what has been happening, ask questions and decide whether working together feels right for you.

Before asking what you need to get done this week, ask what you need from it.

Perhaps you need more breathing space.

Clearer boundaries.

A quieter pace.

Time outside.

More support.

Less pressure to have everything worked out.

Emotional wellbeing is not only about managing responsibilities.

It is also about noticing what helps you feel steady, supported and more like yourself.

This week, do not only make a list of tasks.

Make room for what you need too.

What would make this week feel better for you?

Did you know your imagination can rehearse safety too.

Anxiety often uses imagination to show you everything that might go wrong.

You may picture yourself panicking, becoming embarrassed, losing confidence or being unable to cope. Although the situation has not happened, your body can begin responding as though it has.

But imagination is not only available to anxiety.

It can also help you rehearse calm, confidence, steadiness and a different response.

The kitten in this image is not pretending to be something it is not. It is beginning to recognise the strength and potential already within it.

This is one reason imagery can be so powerful within hypnotherapy. In a relaxed state of focused attention, the unconscious mind can begin practising what you want to happen instead of continually preparing for what you fear.

So perhaps the question is not only:

What are you afraid might happen?

It is also:

Who would you like to remember you can be?

Would you ever say this to your best friend?

"I'm useless."

"I always get things wrong."

"I should be coping better than this."

Probably not.

So why is it sometimes so easy to say those things to ourselves?

The way we speak to ourselves has a powerful influence on our emotional wellbeing. Being kinder to yourself isn't about making excuses or lowering your standards. It's about replacing harsh self-criticism with something more balanced and more accurate.

Today's video is the second episode of Phoenix Wellbeing Month.

I'd love you to watch it.

I heard a metaphor recently that explains “stuckness” better than anything else.

Imagine standing in front of a door with two keys in your hand.
One key is labelled move forward.
The other is labelled stay where it feels familiar.

You can’t turn both keys at once.
So you hesitate.
You pause.
You second-guess.
Not because you’re unmotivated — but because both options carry weight.

That’s what happens internally for so many people.
Part of you leans into change.
Another part leans into safety.
And nothing moves until one direction becomes just clear enough.

The moment one key feels “steady enough for now,” the tension eases.
And the door opens.

You were never stuck.
You were just deciding which key to trust.🔑

Have you ever felt like parts of who you are got lost along the way?

Centuries ago, artists who couldn’t afford new canvases would paint over their earlier work ,sometimes to reuse the materials, sometimes to hide a piece that felt too vulnerable to show.

But that original painting never disappeared.
It was simply covered over.

People often do the same.
Over time, we learn to paint layers over our real selves, to fit in, keep the peace, or protect something precious.

Hypnotherapy helps gently uncover what’s been hidden, revealing the strength, calm, and confidence that have always been there beneath the surface.
🎥 Watch this week’s Lesley Logic: The Hidden Masterpiece, and remember, you were never broken… just covered up.

August often has a different feel to it.

For some people, it means holidays and a slower pace. For others, it is simply a chance to pause before September begins.

So I am making August Phoenix Wellbeing Month.

In this first video, I explore what emotional wellbeing really means and why it does not mean feeling happy all the time.

It can mean recognising what you are feeling, recovering after a difficult day, setting boundaries, asking for help or making one small change that helps you feel steadier.

The Perfectionist Gremlin is a master of high standards.
It says things like:
That’s not good enough
You should be doing more
You can rest when it’s perfect

At first, it looks like ambition. But really, it’s fear wearing a mask.
Fear of not being enough.
Fear of getting it wrong.
Fear of not being in control.

This gremlin doesn’t want you to fail. It wants you to stay safe. But perfection isn’t safety. It’s paralysis.

A small step is still a step forward. You don’t have to earn your worth by over-delivering.

Are you still playing Chinese whispers... just inside your own mind?

Most of us remember playing Chinese whispers at school.

One message.

Several people.

By the end, it had become something completely different.

The problem is, anxiety can play exactly the same game.

One conversation becomes another version.

Then another.

Until we're no longer responding to what actually happened, but to the story we've gradually created around it.

This week's Lesley Logic explores why that happens and why thoughts are not facts.

Stop Interviewing Your Anxiety

Have you ever replayed a conversation over and over, wondering if you said the wrong thing?

Maybe you've convinced yourself someone is upset with you. Perhaps you've imagined the worst, even though nothing has actually happened.

Anxiety loves unanswered questions. The more you question it, the more stories it creates.

One thought becomes another, then another, until you're no longer remembering what happened. You're responding to the story your anxious mind has built.

Here's something worth remembering:

Thoughts are not facts.

This week's Lesley's Logic explores why overthinking happens and how anxiety can become a very unreliable narrator.
