SPOTLIGHT: MSK Clinics

The PCN helps to deliver additional appointments outside of usual surgery opening times. You may have heard this being referred to as 'Enhanced Access'.

We offer a Musculoskeletal (MSK) service during weekday evenings. Patients with aches, pains and a lack of mobility in their muscles, joints, or bones can ask to book an appointment to see our GP specialist, Dr Tom Jenkins. He delivers these clinics at the Wilson Health Centre, Overton Park Surgery and Underwood Surgery.

Dr Tom Jenkins is able to deal with any complex MSK issues, can see children under 18, and can perform soft tissue and joint injections.

*It's Cervical Screening Awareness Week*

Cervical Screening Awareness Week highlights how important screening is in preventing cervical cancer. Smear tests check for early cell changes, helping stop cancer before it develops.

If you’ve been invited for screening (ages 25–64), it’s important to attend—even if you feel well. Many people delay due to nerves or busy lives, but the test is quick and can be lifesaving.

We understand it can feel daunting, and our team is here to support you and make you as comfortable as possible.

✅ If you’re due or overdue, please book your appointment today.

A few minutes could make all the difference—let’s prioritise prevention together.

We are pleased to share details of a new Cheltenham men's mental health walking group starting Wed 11 March. Men Walking and Talking is a national charity founded in 2021 to provide simple, free, peer-support spaces for men.

The format is intentionally uncomplicated:
• A free, weekly one-hour walk
• No referral needed
• No cost
• No pressure to talk
• Just men walking side-by-side in a safe, informal space

The group will meet at Pittville Pump Room (GL52 3JE) at 6:45pm for a 7pm start on Wed 11 March.

This group is not therapy and not a replacement for professional support. However we know men sometimes don’t feel comfortable accessing professional support. Walking side by side non judgemental peers offers an alternative to help build connections, reduce isolation and create space for conversation.

You can contact Terry or Ian to find out more at www.menwalkingandtalking.co.uk/cheltenham or simply turn up.
