šŸŒ’ Solar Eclipse Evening at Chargrove Lawn...

There’s something a little different happening in the skies over Gloucester this evening, and we’re hoping to enjoy the partial solar eclipse together from our lovely garden at Chargrove Lawn.

In Gloucester, the eclipse begins at around 6:16pm, reaches its maximum at approximately 7:12pm, and finishes shortly after 8:06pm.

With plenty of outdoor space, we’re planning to make an evening of it, giving residents the opportunity to head into the garden, enjoy the atmosphere and hopefully catch a glimpse of this special event.

Of course, everyone’s safety comes first. Residents will be supported by our team throughout, and we’ll only be viewing the eclipse using appropriate eclipse glasses or safe indirect viewing methods. Ordinary sunglasses are not suitable for looking at the Sun.

It should be a lovely opportunity to experience something a little out of the ordinary together.

Come on England! āš½šŸ†

From everyone at Chargrove Lawn Care Home, we’re wishing England the very best of luck in tonight’s World Cup game.

Our residents and staff will be cheering them on and enjoying the excitement together, with plenty of football chat, score predictions and memories of matches from years gone by.

There’s always a lovely buzz when a big game is on, and we’re looking forward to watching the action unfold.

Good luck England — from all of us at Chargrove Lawn! šŸ“āš½ā¤ļø

ā˜€ļø Beating the heat at Chargrove Lawn! ā˜€ļø

With the warmer weather here, we’re making sure everyone stays comfortable, cool and well looked after.

We have air conditioning on each floor, creating lovely cool areas for residents to relax in, while our patio doors open out onto our extensive, well-maintained gardens for those who still want to enjoy a little fresh air and shade.

And of course, our freezer is choc-a-bloc with ice lollies, ice and ice creams — so we’ll be staying cool as a cucumber while the mercury soars! šŸ¦

We hope you’re all taking good care in the heat too, staying hydrated, keeping cool and enjoying the sunshine safely. šŸ’š

Here's some tips for sleeping easier at night.

At Chargrove Lawn Care Home, Father’s Day was made even more special with a little help from our very own vegetable patches. 🌿

Our residents and team picked fresh vegetables from the garden, including some beautiful homegrown lettuce, ready to be enjoyed as part of a Father’s Day lunch.

There’s something really lovely about seeing produce grown, picked and shared within the home — especially when it brings everyone together around the table.
It was also a chance for our team to sit, eat and spend quality time with residents, sharing stories, laughter and good conversation.

Tim, our Housekeeper, summed it up perfectly:
ā€œI am very proud of my work at CGL, but nothing beats the opportunity to sit with people and talk about their lives. It’s what makes me come to work every day!ā€

Moments like these are what make life at Chargrove Lawn so special — simple, meaningful and full of connection. šŸ’š

A lovely afternoon in the garden at Chargrove Lawn 🌿🌸

Our residents and staff have been making the most of the sunshine, spending time together outdoors and adding some beautiful colour to one of our garden areas.

We couldn’t be happier with everyone’s efforts. It’s been wonderful to see staff and residents working side by side to create a relaxing new space for people to enjoy.

Surrounded by flowers, greenery and views across our mature gardens, we hope this little area will become a peaceful spot to sit, chat, enjoy the fresh air and hopefully attract a bit more wildlife too.

Our wildflower meadow is still a work in progress — possibly a few more weeds than flowers in its first year! — but we’ll keep trying, and we’re already looking forward to seeing how everything grows.

A big thank you to everyone who got involved. It’s moments like this that make Chargrove Lawn feel like home. šŸŒ¼šŸ’š

A lovely little update from Chargrove Lawn Care Home 🌿

We’ve been busy giving our fountain a new lease of life, and it has now been fully restored. All that’s left to do is add some plants and finishing touches to turn it into a beautiful seating area for our residents, families and visitors to enjoy.

With the weather looking so lovely over the next couple of days, we’re looking forward to getting outside, doing a bit of planting and making the most of our garden space.

We can’t wait to see it all come together — it’s going to be a peaceful spot to sit, chat and enjoy the outdoors. šŸ’š

šŸ§€ Chargrove Cheese Rolling Festival! šŸ§€

With Cooper’s Hill just down the road, we couldn’t resist getting into the spirit of the famous cheese rolling tradition… Chargrove Lawn style!

We set up our very own mini cheese rolling festival in the garden, complete with a real cheese, a mini slope, certificates and plenty of refreshments. Thankfully, there was no chasing cheese down steep hills here — ours was much safer and more about ā€œclosest to the flagā€ than who could get down the quickest!

It was such a lovely afternoon filled with laughter, sunshine, friendly competition and community spirit. A huge well done to our winners, Pamela and Jean, and to everyone who joined in and cheered along.

We love making the most of our garden and bringing local traditions into our home in a fun, safe and memorable way. Moments like these are what life at Chargrove Lawn is all about. šŸ’›

Chargrove in Bloom 🌸🌿

Residents and staff at Chargrove Lawn spent a happy few hours bringing even more colour and life to our gardens.

From beautiful hanging baskets and bright planters to our growing herbs, fruits and vegetables, it has been wonderful to see everyone getting involved and enjoying time outdoors together. There’s something so special about planting, nurturing and watching things grow — and our garden is already looking full of colour, care and character.

A special mention to staff member Sooraj, who discovered some new gardening skills along the way! 🌱

Our outdoor spaces mean so much to everyone here at Chargrove Lawn. They give residents a peaceful place to relax, socialise, enjoy the sunshine and take pride in creating something beautiful for all to enjoy.

Chargrove in Bloom is well and truly underway šŸ’

Our wildflower meadow is beginning to bloom at Chargrove Lawn 🌸🌼

Residents and staff have been working together to create a beautiful wildflower space down the side of our garden, and it’s wonderful to see the first colours starting to appear.

This lovely area has been created not only for everyone at Chargrove Lawn to enjoy, but also to encourage wildlife to thrive. From bees and butterflies to birds and other little visitors, we hope our wildflower meadow will become a peaceful, natural haven throughout the warmer months.

It’s been a joy watching the space grow and change, and even more special knowing it has been created together by our residents and team.

Local Traditions This Weekend....

We’re lucky to be just down the road from the world-famous Coopers Hill Cheese Rolling, and we’ll definitely be cheering on all the rolls, tumbles and triumphs from the comfort of our home! šŸ§€šŸ‘

Our residents will be watching the action on TV and supporting this brilliant local tradition — safely, of course.

We may even host our own very gentle version in the garden, with a Babybel rolling down a small slope… but that’s about as daring as we’ll get! No steep hills for us, thank you! šŸ˜„

Here’s to celebrating local events, community spirit and one of Gloucestershire’s most wonderfully unique traditions.
