We recently decided to change the way we collected our Friends and Family data. This data is collected routinely and ask patients if they would recommend The Royal Well Surgery to their Friends and Family! This is why it is called Friends and Family. Patients can also give comments. All is provided anonymously.

Until recently, patients were asked to complete a form when attending the surgery, but we now also send this form electronically by text message to patients who have attended, or had contact with the surgery. you can complete this and return electronically.

The responses have been overwhelmingly, both the high response rate but also the really positive nature of the comments.

As a Practice Manager with 20 years of experience, I have never experienced such positive and supportive messages and comments from patients.

On behalf of the Royal Well team, Thank you. 🙏🏽 This feedback does make a difference to us, and even the comments that are not positive help us understand where we can do better.

I will arrange for this information to be posted on a monthly basis.

The first dementia-friendly, accessible Stroud Gentle Park Walk of 2026 is on Friday 13th February, meeting as usual at 10.30am at the Museum in the Park for a pre-walk coffee. The walk starts around 11am. No need to book, just come along. Disabled parking is available either outside or near the museum, just drive to the top of the leisure centre car park and press the button by the barrier - telling the receptionist you are there for the walks.

If rainy, we walk around the museum, so we meet whatever the weather! Fair Shares organise Gentle Walks in Stratford Park in Stroud every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month.

We are very sorry but we are still struggling with the phone lines. Currently there is only one line in to the surgery and consequently waiting times are long. We apologise for this, it is beyond our control, but we are doing our best to get through the calls quickly and to encourage the engineers to fix the lines as soon as possible. A big congratulations to Dr Morgan and Dr Glover for being nominated as Tutor of the Year by the medical students that have been working at Royal Well. They both give such a lot to training future doctors, and they are a great representation of our commitment to medical education at this difficult time for the NHS.
