The Comfort Gremlin often shows up after trauma.
It says: “Have something — it’ll help you cope.”
Food. Drink. Distraction.

In the moment, it numbs the pain. But afterwards, it can leave you feeling worse.

This gremlin isn’t bad — it’s protective. It learned to soothe you in the only way it knew. The work is showing it there are safer, healthier ways to bring comfort.

The Avoider Gremlin is often a trauma response.
When hard things didn’t feel safe
When speaking up led to shutdowns
When decisions felt loaded with consequences

Avoiding became protection.
