This is Bella. She is 15 years old and has syringomyelia which affects her mobility and causes a lot of pain in her neck and forelimbs. She also has heart and kidney issues. Acupuncture really helps her with pain relief and she is a super patient, very relaxed and calm. She enjoys a few treats during her treatment and then a big relaxing sleep afterwards.

This is Watson. He is having regular acupuncture sessions to help him with his progressive mobility issues, in combination with regular hydrotherapy and physiotherapy. I treat him with a combination of dry needling and electro-acupuncture. He is a super patient and is very calm and trusting- especially if I keep up a regular delivery of treats!

This is Indy- he was diagnosed with IMPA (immune-mediated polyarthritis) over a year ago. He responded well to a prolonged course of medical treatment, and is now having regular acupuncture treatments, along with regular physio and hydrotherapy, to help with his recovery. The acupuncture is relieving his muscle pain and spasms, especially in his back, and also helps to balance his immune system. He is a super patient, and (as seen here) he loves a likkimat to keep him busy during his acupuncture treatment.

Update on Artie (from March 3rd)- here he is having his recent electro-acupuncture treatment , this is the most relaxed he’s ever been, he was fast asleep for most of the session! He is doing really well, much stronger on his hind legs, and he has a lot more control over his bladder and bowel now- it isn’t 100% but he is managing well, and is really happy now he can go out on walks again. This was his last treatment, for the time being, and I want to say what a super patient he has been, and also ‘well done’ to his lovely owner who has nursed him so well and so patiently.

Update on Bella from my post on March 14th- Bella is making great progress, and the wonderful news is that she is now able to stand and walk!! She is improving every day and is still having regular weekly acupuncture treatments as well as her physio and hydrotherapy. She continues to be a super patient- now she has more mobility and sensation she is a bit more wriggly when I place the needles- but once they are in she becomes very relaxed- and she is always pleased to have her treat afterwards!

This is Gigi- she is having acupuncture for bilateral patellar luxation. She responds really well to her treatments, and becomes very relaxed and sleepy, and the luxation is happening much less frequently since she started having acupuncture. She is amazingly calm and lies so well in her owner’s arms - and she is only a puppy- not yet one year old!

This is Ellie, she is 12 &1/2 years old and is having regular acupuncture treatments to help with her laryngeal paralysis and her mobility, and also to support her kidney function. She is often a little suspicious of having the needles placed, so this week her owners came up with this brilliant solution- a ‘Likimat’. It worked amazingly well, I was able to place all her needles with no problems whilst she was distracted licking mashed banana from the mat! What a great idea (available on Amazon at a good price I believe😊). Ellie responds really well to her acupuncture, once the needles are in place- the treatments have really helped reduce her cough, and in combination with regular hydrotherapy sessions it is helping her with her hind limb mobility issues too.

This is Bella. She is 5&1/2 and is recovering from spinal surgery, which she had in January. She is having regular weekly acupuncture treatments, with a combination of dry needles and electro-acupuncture, and she is a super patient. She is making great progress- when I first started treating her she hardly had any feeling in her back legs & no movement there at all, but now she can move her legs strongly and is almost able to stand up by herself. She still doesn’t have control of her bladder and bowel, but we hope this will also start to improve soon. She also has regular Physiotherapy and Hydrotherapy, and her owners are doing brilliantly keeping up with her physio exercises every day. Every time I see her she has made a little more progress- well done Bella!
