π Heading to uni or college this autumn? Don't forget your MenB vaccine! π
Meningitis B (MenB) is a serious bacterial infection that can progress quickly and cause life-threatening illnesses like meningitis and sepsis. Because the bacteria spread easily in shared living spaces like university halls, the NHS is offering a free, time-limited MenB vaccine to help protect young adults who are at the highest risk.
β
Who is eligible?
You can get the free NHS MenB vaccine if you are:
- Aged 17 or 18 (born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008).
- Under 25 and starting university for the first time in autumn 2026.
- Under 25 and starting a residential further education college for the first time in autumn 2026.
Good news: International students and students from devolved nations are also eligible!)
