A very happy day today.

My son collected his A-levels results and his firm-choice university is confirmed. So proud of him and very excited and happy for what comes next. 😊

And it also feels like a good moment to slow down a little.

Watching the eclipse yesterday reminded me that even the sun disappears for a while. The light is still there, but it is just taking a little break from being seen.

So, I think I am going to follow its example. From now until September, a little less work and a little more rest, family, sunshine and time to just be.

Even the sun takes a break sometimes. I think I can too! 😉

🌒 Getting ready for this evening’s solar eclipse!

We couldn’t get hold of any eclipse glasses, so we’ve spent the morning making our own pinhole projectors out of cardboard boxes, foil and a lot of improvisation!

Hopefully they’ll do the job! 😊

A lighthouse doesn't rescue ships. It helps them find their way.

To me, that captures the essence of clinical supervision.

It's not about directing, fixing, or having all the answers.

It's about being present, offering a safe space, and shining just enough light for someone to find their own path.

The more I learn, the more I realise that this is the kind of supervisor I hope to become.

And now... I'm finally allowing myself to slow down.

I'm starting the summer surrounded by flowers and plants that have filled both my home and my heart with colour. Thank you to everyone who made me feel so appreciated at the end of another school year.

Time to recharge, enjoy the little things, spend time with the people I love, and make space for whatever this summer brings. 😊

As another school year comes to an end, I just wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to all the schools who continue to trust me, year after year, to walk alongside your children, families and staff. It is a privilege that I never take for granted.

To all the wonderful children I've had the pleasure of working with this year. Thank you for letting me into your worlds, for your courage, your creativity, your trust and for everything you've taught me. Watching you grow has been a real honour.

I hope everyone has a happy, restful and adventure-filled summer. ☀️

I can't wait to see so many of you again in September, ready for another year of playing, creating, growing and discovering together.

For now, I'm swapping the therapy room for a summer of rest, reflection... and finishing my Clinical Supervisor qualification!

Happy Summer!!🌞🐬⛱

Maybe self-esteem is, in part, recognising that our own needs matter. 🤍

This has been one of my busiest school years yet. Alongside working full time as a play therapist, I've been completing my Clinical Supervision training and preparing for some exciting professional changes.

I still have another week of work to go, but I've started making space for little moments like this. Not because everything is finished, but because I've realised I don't have to wait until the end to pause and recharge.

A gentle reminder to myself that looking after ourselves is just as important as looking after everyone else. 🎭

60 hours completed!

Another little milestone on my journey towards becoming a qualified Clinical Supervisor.

Today I finished my 60 hours of supervision practice, getting one step closer to submitting my portfolio.
What made it extra special was that my very first supervision session was with a Certificate trainee… and my 60th hour was with also with her.

Today we had the chance to reflect on both our journeys, how much she has grown in confidence as a therapist, and how much I have grown and developed my own identity as a supervisor.

A lovely full-circle moment.

Feeling very grateful, happy and ready for the next step… now onto the portfolio!

A fab day at the London Arts and Play Therapies Conference: Working Together.

A day full of learning, reflection and connection, sharing the space with music therapists, art therapists, drama therapists and play therapists.

So lovely to come together, celebrate our different approaches and remember how much we can learn from each other when we work alongside one another.

Not all heroes wear capes...some oscillate! 😂 🌬

This week's most valuable member of the play therapy team!

Alongside the toys, sand, games, creative and sensory resources, we also had a fan, water spray bottles and iced cold water!

Here's hoping everyone is managing to keep cool during this heatwave.

Stay hydrated, look after yourselves and spare a thought for all the fans working overtime this week! 😀
