The recent guilty verdict in the case of little Preston has brought his story back into the spotlight, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. 💔

As a play therapist, whenever I hear about a child whose life has been cut short because the adults around them failed to keep them safe, my heart breaks.

Every child deserves to grow up feeling safe, loved and protected.

Adoption should represent hope. A chance for healing, stability, belonging and unconditional love. Knowing that this little boy never got to experience that is heartbreaking.

Children don't always tell us what has happened to them with words. More often, they tell us through their play, their behaviour, their relationships and their nervous system. They are constantly communicating with us. We have a responsibility to notice, to stay curious and, most importantly, to act when something doesn't feel right.

Safeguarding isn't just paperwork or a policy. It is about protecting children when they are at their most vulnerable.

Today I'm holding Preston in my thoughts, along with every child who is living with fear instead of safety.

Every child deserves adults who protect them, advocate for them and love them unconditionally.

Today I completed my PQ Clinical Supervision Follow-Up Day.

I have to admit that I started the day feeling quite anxious, especially knowing that I had to do my presentation. But once I got going and had the opportunity to present, the nerves gradually disappeared.

It has been such a valuable day, full of learning, reflection and opportunities to grow. I always enjoy listening to other therapists. Days like today remind me how much we can learn from one another.

As I got back to my hotel room this evening and was catching up on the news, I was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr Garry Landreth.

Dr Landreth was one of the pillars of play therapy and someone whose work has influenced generations of therapists across the world. His belief in the healing power of play and in children's capacity for growth has shaped our profession in so many ways.

His legacy is enormous and will continue to live on through the children, families, therapists and supervisors who have been touched by his work.

Thank you, Dr Landreth. Your contribution to the world of play therapy will never ever be forgotten. ❤️

49 today 🎂

Feeling grateful.

Grateful for my family, my friends and for all the people who have crossed my path and enriched my life over the years.

I'm also grateful for the unexpected journey I took some years ago, which led me to become a therapist. It has helped me grow in ways I could never have imagined and continues to teach me something new every day.

Here's hoping for good health, plenty of laughter and another year of learning, growing and connecting with others.

Thank you for being there. ❤️

There is something really powerful about watching somebody move from:

‘I didn’t know what to expect…’ to finding a space to reflect, process, breathe and understand things differently.

Creative clinical supervision can become such a supportive, containing space over time.

Feeling really grateful for this thoughtful feedback recently. 💕

Feeling heavy-hearted today...so, I painted.

Grief doesn't only come with tears; sometimes it comes as remembering, with love.

In loving memory of Richard, whose kindness touched many and will never be forgotten.

A few days between Ibiza and Formentera… just what my body and mind needed.

Blue skies, endless blue water, sunshine on my skin, soaking up that much-needed vitamina D ☀️

Slowing down, breathing a little deeper, allowing space to just be.

A gentle pause… a moment of self-care before the final stretch of the course begins.

Feeling recharged, grounded, and grateful 💙

Sometimes supervision is not about finding answers, but about creating a space where things can begin to make sense.

In this image, the lighthouse gently represents guidance and ethical holding, while the sand tray becomes a shared space where experiences can be explored, moved, and understood. The sunflower leans towards the light, a quiet reminder of growth over time. The mirror, and the soft reflection of the water, invite a deeper layer of awareness, a space to notice not only what is happening, but how it is being experienced.

My role is not to lead, but to sit alongside, holding a safe, reflective and creative space where supervisees can think, feel, and make meaning at their own pace. I genuinely enjoy my role as a supervisor and feel grateful to be able to share and hold this process with each supervisee.

I am based in Buckinghamshire and currently have availability to welcome new supervisees.
