What a fantastic time we had yesterday at the Kingston National Play Day event! 🌈💚

Our colourful rice tray made another appearance and was a huge hit – the children absolutely loved exploring and playing with it!

It was wonderful to be there alongside our amazing Early Years team colleagues. Jenny, one of our SEND Officers, brought along her fantastic play dough activity, which was a big favourite with families. 💛

Maxine and Linda had lots of lovely conversations with families, offering advice and support about nursery entitlements and helping parents access the information they need.

There was so much fun to enjoy throughout the day, but one of our biggest highlights had to be the drumming – what an amazing atmosphere! 🥁

What a fantastic time we had at the Richmond National Play Day event last week! 🌈✨

We brought along a simple sensory play activity with colourful rice trays, and it was an absolute hit! The children loved exploring, scooping, pouring and getting creative through play. 💛

One of the highlights of the day was meeting the Mayor of Richmond. We had the opportunity to tell him about the Portage service and the support we provide to families. It was especially meaningful that one of our Portage parents was able to share firsthand the positive impact the service has had on their family. Hearing these experiences really highlighted the difference early intervention and tailored support can make.

It was wonderful to see so many smiles, curiosity and families coming together to celebrate the joy of play. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand - we had such a great time and can't wait for the next event!

We’ve had a lovely time at our Portage Stay & Play session, we've been having them at Kingston Town Children’s Centre! 💛

Through exploring different textures, colours, sounds, smells, and movements, children build confidence, develop communication and problem-solving skills, strengthen fine and gross motor skills, and support emotional regulation.

Every splash, scoop, squeeze, and discovery creates opportunities for learning in a fun, engaging, and meaningful way.
