The "Conifers family" of Directors makes regular visits, and one of the Directors also spends a large part of her week working alongside management at the Oaklands.

Today Thursday 13th August at Oakland's saw an absolute performance of Rock and Roll Rewind and the amazing performance contained classic hits from Elvis like Nothing but a Hounddog and Can't help loving you and other amazing rock and roll hits like Boots are Made for Walking and Nothing Unusual just to name the songs that got our residents dancing the most!!

Smiles and dancing were abound this afternoon as everyone gave the mash potato and the jive a go from their seats pulling off some impressive dance moves all the whole singing along to their hearts content!

Undeniably this afternoon was a rock and roll party here at Oaklands and we had an absolutely amazing time and loved every second of it.

Sunday 9th August fish and chips Sunday from Harry Ramsdens we had 18 residents and 30 portions of fish and chips delivered, everyone was so happy and couldn't eat them fast enough, everyone was stuffed for the rest of the afternoon so it was colouring and puzzles for the rest of the day to help our bellies rest.

We have been asked to make sure we book again for fish and chips so keep a look out for the next date.

3rd August saw Gill and Leslie come and join us for Church service, here at Oaklands Church service is so important to us it gives us a time to reflect and remember and appreciate our faith, some of us would have been avid church goes so bringing church to Oakland's is the best way to connect to our faith.
We also love having Gill and Leslie visiting us because we always have a good chat after service.

Sunday 2nd August saw our residents being visited by one of Chesters amazing local motorcycle clubs! With brilliant bikes and lovely bikers it was no surprise that they had an absolutely amazing time!!

After watching the bikes parade in our residents got the chance to have a look at these amazing machines, and chat with the people that ride them and some of them even discussed their own pasts of either being motorcycle superfans or having ridden them themselves!!

We are so thankful to our visitors for making our afternoon absolutely amazing (and to the weather for not scorching or soaking us!!) and hope to see them with us again!!

Geoff and Alison celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Saturday 1st of August, in our new family suite which anyone is able to use if they would like to!

The happy couple shared their family photos, and shared dinner, breakfast and lunch together, having an amazing time together just enjoying each others company on their special day!

Today was our Christmas in July party here at Oaklands!

With Christmas songs sang for us by Andy, Christmas themed snacks and decorations we did out best to make July feel even just a little bit like December, even if we are five months and one day early for the real Christmas!

All of our residents had an absolute blast, especially with a surprise visit from the Grinch and the ensuing cotton ball snowball fight!

Wednesday 22nd July saw a new singer come to visit us, Sarah sang all the oldies for us and we had a blast. We sang our hearts out to Daisy Daisy the full version which everyone found very funny, we also had musicals, Elvis, Beetles and many more favourites.

Singing is always a firm favourite in Oakland's and we do like a good old boogie and sing a long, the weather was a little cloudy but we made the most of the warm temperature and we had a blast in the garden once again.
