Lately, I’ve realised how much time I spend worrying about what my children will remember about me.

Will they remember that I was on my phone too much?

The times I shouted?

The days I was stressed, overwhelmed and overstimulated?

Will one of them feel like I got it wrong?

The thing is, I don’t think these worries come from not caring.

I think they come from caring deeply.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last few years, it’s that parenting isn’t about getting it right all the time.

It’s about repair.

Going back after you’ve shouted.

Saying, “I’m sorry.”

Explaining that grown ups get things wrong too.

Having the conversation.

Trying again tomorrow.

My children are 11, 7 and 5. I’m worrying about what they’ll remember in twenty years when I’m still right in the middle of creating those memories.

What I do know is that I’m far more aware of my behaviour as a parent than I used to be.

And when I get it wrong, I’ll keep repairing.

Because I think that’s one of the most important lessons we can teach our children.

Do you ever think about what your children will remember about you?

These weren’t beliefs I consciously chose. They were deeply ingrained patterns that had been running on autopilot for years.

It took burnout, therapy, self-reflection and some very honest conversations for me to start noticing them.

I’m not sharing this because I’ve completely overcome them. I haven’t. Some of them still show up regularly.

The difference now is that I can spot them.

I can catch myself before automatically following the same old pattern.

For me, self-awareness has been the biggest shift.

Because you can’t change something you don’t even realise is there.

I’m still a work in progress, but I’m no longer living by these rules without questioning them.

These are just some of the things I do to keep my mindset in a good place.

But here’s something I’ve learnt...Not every bad day needs fixing.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is stop trying to force yourself to feel better and simply let yourself have the day.

A sad day doesn’t mean you’re failing.
A tough day doesn’t mean you’ve lost all your progress.
A day spent doing very little isn’t wasted.

The tools are there to support me, not to stop me feeling human.

Some days I use them. Some days I just sit on the sofa, have a cry, watch rubbish TV and call it self-care.

Both are allowed. 🤍

It all starts with your mindset!!!

Before birth classes, before packing your hospital bag, before labour begins — your thoughts are already shaping your experience.

The words you say to yourself matter. They shape your beliefs, your emotions, and even your body’s hormonal response during pregnancy and labour.

That’s where affirmations come in.
They’re not just “positive quotes” — they’re a daily decision to shift your focus from fear to trust, from worry to calm.

Start now. One affirmation a day. Say it out loud.
Write it down. Breathe it in.

Your journey begins with the way you speak to yourself.

Save this post to come back to whenever anxiety creeps in. You’ve got this.

⭐️QUICK INTRO TO ME⭐️

I have some lovely new followers so just thought I’d say hi and do another quick intro. Thanks for the support.

❤️My name is Ruth and I have 3 children aged 9, 6 and 4

❤️I have a degree in acting and my 9-5 job is working as a Casting Manager for 3 casting platforms (job sites for actors)

❤️I experienced a birth without Hypnobirthing almost 10 years ago and was desperate to find a better way to birth. After discovering hypnobirthing I went on to have 2 further births at home and I am now passionate about passing my knowledge on to other women so they can also have a positive experience of birth.

❤️ Unusual fact about me - I modelled for a non loyalty stock image shoot over 10 years ago and signed my life and face away for about £100 and now my images are being used all over the world to advertise many different products, services and articles still to this day. My face has been all over from France to Australia even Brazil.

❤️ I love a good cup of tea ☕️ strong with a small amount of milk, also described as builders tea!

❤️Also recently completed my training with to help women have a better experience of breastfeeding their babies

Follow me for hypnobirthing tips and advice and information on how to book courses with me 🙂

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

In a groundbreaking new development, hypnobirthing has now been recognised as the ONLY thing you need for birth! Experts confirm that with the right breathing techniques and visualisations, some people are now skipping contractions altogether and simply thinking their baby into existence.

One study even found that imagining a water birth in the Maldives is so powerful that a small percentage of babies were actually born with a faint tan. ☀️

I’m absolutely thrilled by these findings! Will you be trying the new Hypno-Teleportation method, or are you sticking with classic surge breathing? Let me know in the comments!
