When I launched the Midlife Movement Programme on June 1st, I hoped it would help women move better, feel stronger and reconnect with themselves.
Two weeks in, the feedback has been incredible.
"i had the best nights sleep"
"the abs session hit hard"
" the extra sun salutes were a bit much today but i did what i could and ended the session feeling great"
" i can relate to your brain fog and i'm glad you lagh abnout it"
"i feel like i'm finally taking the right action and doing myself some good"
Women are already telling me they feel stronger, less stiff, more motivated to move and more connected to their bodies.
But something else has emerged that I hadn't fully anticipated.
Alongside the movement sessions, we've been having some wonderful conversations about midlife.
Honest conversations.
Supportive conversations.
The kind of conversations that remind us we are not alone in what we're experiencing and for some ts educational for what might be ahead and they can make choices for themselves based on information from our shared journeys.
So much of the discussion around midlife and menopause focuses on what is wrong, what is declining or what we are losing. While it's important to acknowledge the challenges, I believe there is another side to this story.
A side that speaks about wisdom, self-awareness, stronger boundaries, deeper self-respect and the freedom that comes from caring less about meeting other people's expectations.
Within the programme, we've been exploring what it means to move through this stage of life with strength, curiosity and compassion rather than fear and resentment.
The women taking part are not only building strength and mobility; they are also sharing experiences, insights and encouragement. There is something incredibly reassuring about hearing someone else say, "Me too."
This isn't another challenge.
It's not about fixing yourself.
It's not about forcing your body to do more.
It's about learning how to work with your body, especially during midlife when the old methods often stop working.
As many of you know, my own experience of perimenopause taught me that there comes a point where pushing harder isn't the answer.
What we need instead is intelligent movement, consistency, strength, mobility, rest, support and community.
That's exactly what we're building together.
Although the programme started on June 1st, it's not too late to join. Most people use the replay videos at their own convenience, you have 2 weeks worth of convenient just waiting to be used to help you feel more empowered and inspired.
