When I launched the Midlife Movement Programme on June 1st, I hoped it would help women move better, feel stronger and reconnect with themselves.

Two weeks in, the feedback has been incredible.

"i had the best nights sleep"
"the abs session hit hard"
" the extra sun salutes were a bit much today but i did what i could and ended the session feeling great"
" i can relate to your brain fog and i'm glad you lagh abnout it"
"i feel like i'm finally taking the right action and doing myself some good"

Women are already telling me they feel stronger, less stiff, more motivated to move and more connected to their bodies.

But something else has emerged that I hadn't fully anticipated.

Alongside the movement sessions, we've been having some wonderful conversations about midlife.

Honest conversations.

Supportive conversations.

The kind of conversations that remind us we are not alone in what we're experiencing and for some ts educational for what might be ahead and they can make choices for themselves based on information from our shared journeys.

So much of the discussion around midlife and menopause focuses on what is wrong, what is declining or what we are losing. While it's important to acknowledge the challenges, I believe there is another side to this story.

A side that speaks about wisdom, self-awareness, stronger boundaries, deeper self-respect and the freedom that comes from caring less about meeting other people's expectations.

Within the programme, we've been exploring what it means to move through this stage of life with strength, curiosity and compassion rather than fear and resentment.

The women taking part are not only building strength and mobility; they are also sharing experiences, insights and encouragement. There is something incredibly reassuring about hearing someone else say, "Me too."

This isn't another challenge.

It's not about fixing yourself.

It's not about forcing your body to do more.

It's about learning how to work with your body, especially during midlife when the old methods often stop working.

As many of you know, my own experience of perimenopause taught me that there comes a point where pushing harder isn't the answer.

What we need instead is intelligent movement, consistency, strength, mobility, rest, support and community.

That's exactly what we're building together.

Although the programme started on June 1st, it's not too late to join. Most people use the replay videos at their own convenience, you have 2 weeks worth of convenient just waiting to be used to help you feel more empowered and inspired.

All previous sessions are available as replays and you can start exactly where you are.

If you've been watching from the sidelines thinking you've missed your chance, this is your invitation.

You haven't missed anything.

You simply begin from where you are today.

What you get -
1 Ashtanga practice per week
1 weights session per week - Lyndsey style
1 Evening calm and restore session per week
1 strong flow yoga practice per week
1 each of 10 min abs blast, arm strengtheners, leg strengtheners, full body

Do as much or as little as you like - top yourself up and you will have more to give, get the motivation ball rolling and your desire will grow. Lets reignite your zest for life.

Perimenopause has a way of introducing us to a stranger.

One day you feel like yourself, and the next you're knocked sideways, wondering where that version of you went.

You find yourself standing in the kitchen, forgetting why you're there. Words disappear. Tears come without warning. Rage simmers (or explode) Even the sound of people breathing can feel triggering. Your body no longer feels like the one you've always known and pushed up mountains.

The things you once loved no longer bring the same joy. The social butterfly loses her wings and longs for a cocoon. You want to retreat from the world. And in those moments, it can feel as though this is how it will be forever.

This is exactly when you need reminding: this is not who you are now, and while it may take time, it will pass. Your zest for life will return (thanks Claire)

There is a new version of you waiting to emerge, but first you may need to rest, rage, grieve, heal...or whatever it is you need. You're not going mad. You're evolving.

Perimenopause is not the end of who you are. It's the beginning of who you are becoming.

And this isn't the first time you've evolved. You've been evolving your entire life. Think back to when your menstrual cycle first began. Think about every identity you've stepped into since then, in your career, your relationships, your home, and your personal growth. This is simply another transformation.

Don't be afraid of the "this is it" moment.

Embrace it. Empower yourself through learning. Take action. Create as much support, nourishment, and self-compassion as possible. Surround yourself with supporting people.

I've shared a new blog post and a yoga practice that beautifully supports this stage of life and what I have discussed here
