Does your neck click, crack or grind when you move your head? This is known as neck crepitus - it’s actually very common and often nothing serious but always worth investigating. Common causes include:

🔹 Stiff or restricted joints 🔹 Tight or imbalanced muscles 🔹 Poor posture 🔹 Previous injury 🔹 Age-related changes 🔹 Air bubbles moving within the joints

We can help by assessing how your neck, shoulders and upper back are working together, identify any underlying physical imbalances and create a treatment plan to improve mobility, strength and posture.

Contact Rebound Physio in Chester to arrange an assessment. 01244 980535, email us, or visit our website.

If you are in severe pain, movement is severely restricted, feeling unwell, always consult a health professional such as NHS 111 or your GP without delay.

⚡ What happens during a Shockwave Therapy session?

If you’ve never tried Shockwave Therapy before, here’s what you can expect:

✅ Your physiotherapist will assess your condition and identify the area requiring treatment.
✅ Gel is applied before the shockwave device is gently moved over the affected tendon.
✅ You may experience some mild discomfort, but treatment is generally well tolerated.
✅ There’s no downtime afterwards, although you should avoid strenuous activity for a few days.

Sessions usually last around 15–30 minutes, with most patients requiring 3–6 treatments, typically spaced one week apart.

Want to know whether Shockwave Therapy could be suitable for you? Contact Rebound Physiotherapy for advice.

✨ Could dry needling help ease your pain?

Using a very fine needle, dry needling targets tight, sensitive trigger points within the muscles. This encourages the muscle to relax, improves blood flow and supports the body’s natural healing process. It can help many conditions including:

✅ Chronic muscle pain and tightness
✅ Neck and shoulder tension
✅ Muscle-related headaches and migraines
✅ Back pain and sciatica
✅ Sports injuries, strains and sprains
✅ Myofascial pain
✅ Postural imbalances

👣 Are you experiencing heel pain? Plantar fasciopathy can often be eased with gentle stretching, rolling the sole of your foot over a tennis ball and wearing supportive footwear.

However, if the pain hasn’t improved after a couple of weeks, it’s worth getting expert advice. A proper assessment can identify what’s causing the problem, while tailored physiotherapy can support healing and prevent it from becoming worse.
