When a nerve is injured, the messages between your brain and body can become disrupted…

Many nerves have the ability to heal, but recovery takes time and the right input.

Neuro physiotherapy plays an important role in supporting this process by promoting movement, improving function, and helping your nervous system adapt and recover ❤️‍🩹

Your brain is constantly using information that it receives from your vision, vestibular system and proprioception. This helps to keep you upright and moving safely.
If one of these systems isn’t working correctly, your balance may be affected and become more challenging…
Neuro physiotherapy can help manage and improve these symptoms through targeted rehabilitation.

At TherapyMatters, we have lots of experience in vestibular rehabilitation and can support you in your recovery ❤️‍🩹

The importance of sensation ✋🏼

Sensation plays a vital role in helping our brain to plan and correct movement, as well as giving us knowledge of where our arms or legs are without having to look at them.

We use sensation as part of our treatments to help aid movement pathways and recovery, as well as helping to manage pain.

Following a neurological injury or condition, sensation can be altered, reduced, or even become uncomfortable. By incorporating sensory retraining and stimulation techniques into therapy, we can help improve body awareness, movement quality, and independence in function.
