🦴 Why Do We See So Many L5/S1 Disc Problems?
If you've ever been told you have an L5/S1 disc bulge, herniation, or degeneration, you're certainly not alone.
The L5/S1 disc sits at the very bottom of the lower back, where the spine meets the pelvis. Because of its location, it experiences significant forces during everyday activities such as bending, lifting, walking, and sitting.
Over time, these repeated stresses can contribute to changes within the disc, which may be associated with symptoms such as:
✔️ Lower back pain
✔️ Pain into the buttock or leg
✔️ Numbness or tingling
✔️ Stiffness and reduced mobility
At Aligned Health, we regularly assess people with lower back and leg symptoms to help understand what may be contributing to their discomfort and discuss the most appropriate management options.
Every person is different, which is why a thorough consultation and examination are so important before any recommendations are made.
If you're struggling with persistent lower back or leg symptoms and would like to understand what's going on, we're here to help.
