Working in the NHS as a specialist within the ENT and Maxfax head and neck team means I understand facial anatomy at a level that goes far beyond what most aesthetic practitioners will ever encounter. The structures, the vessels, the risk - I see it clinically every day.

My MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice wasn't a weekend course. It was years of rigorous academic and clinical training that shaped the way I think about every single treatment decision I make.

One of the most common questions we get asked about polynucleotides is - when will I see results? 🧬

And the honest answer is that it depends on where you are in your course. Because this treatment isn't about instant change. It's about gradual, genuine improvement that builds over time & understanding that timeline makes the whole process so much easier.

The bumps you see immediately after treatment? Normal and temporary.

The subtle shift in hydration you might notice in the first couple of weeks? That's the beginning.

You don't need to know what you want before you arrive. You don't need to have the right words or come in with a treatment in mind. You just need to show up.

From the moment you walk in, there's absolutely NO pressure. Just a calm, unhurried conversation about what's been bothering you, what's changed, and what you're hoping for 🫶🏼

So lets discuss it 👇🏼

Both are injectable. Both improve skin quality. But they work differently and suit different concerns, which is why understanding the difference matters before booking anything.

🧬 Polynucleotides work by stimulating your skin's own repair process from within. They're the treatment for skin that has lost quality over time, that looks tired, feels crepey, or has fine lines that products simply aren't touching. Results build gradually over a course of sessions and that's exactly the point.

Woman to woman - do your research 👀

Before you sit in anyone's chair, check their work like you would check your ex's new girl's Instagram. Thoroughly. Repeatedly. Without shame. 😂

Because in an industry where anyone can pick up a needle and call themselves a practitioner, receipts genuinely matter.

Look at consistency. Not just the one perfect result they've pinned to the top of their grid but the full picture.

How do results look across different faces, different ages, different concerns? Do they look natural? Do they look like the person still looks like themselves? 👀

Look at qualifications. Not just a certificate from a weekend course, proper medical training, prescribing rights, ongoing education.

Look at reviews. Real ones. From real clients. Consistently.

And then look at how they talk about their work. Do they manage expectations honestly? Do they ever say no? Do they lead with consultation or with a treatment menu?

The right practitioner won't mind you doing your homework. In fact - they'll encourage it.
