Congratulations to the winners of the Arts in care homes competition great entry…we are already planning for next year.

We are delighted to announce the winner of our Arts in Care Homes Competition 2026 - the Royal Hospital Chelsea Pottery Group with their wonderful creation, A Mudlarking Journey!

Created over six weeks, this metre-long mosaic took the group on a journey through London’s history, inspired by objects discovered along the Thames shore by mudlarker Janet Bounds.

Janet’s knowledge and passion brought the many layers of the city’s past to life, inspiring poems, paintings, pottery and, ultimately, this collaborative London-themed mosaic.

Combining handmade tiles with found objects, A Mudlarking Journey celebrates reimagining, repurposing and revitalising the treasures revealed by the Thames.

We were particularly inspired by the way the group embraced this year’s theme, Stories That Connect Us, exploring our connection to the past and the things we leave behind, while showing the wonderful things that can happen when people create together.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved at the Royal Hospital Chelsea Pottery Group, and thank you for sharing your creativity and your story with us.

Happy week from Recentre!
With all the necessary planning consents now approved, we're delighted to see progress continuing. Behind the scenes, we're researching and shaping future plans, while PSG continues to do a wonderful job on site. Exciting times ahead!

Residents enjoyed a fantastic afternoon with the Rock Choir Cheshire- Choirs Led by Kathryn Davies. We sang, danced and tapped our feet so some familiar songs and enjoyed listening to some not so familiar. A lovely afternoon for everyone!

Thursday was NAPA Day of Arts in Care so we decided to extend this to a full week of ‘The Arts’. We’ve have crafty clay heart workshops running throughout the week, our Men’s Club focused on painting a model car which promoted conversations about childhood toys, we had a beautiful cultural dance from Aku, listened to some wonderful singing from Sheila along with having some ongoing craft projects that weren’t quite finished within the week. Overall we’ve had a lovely week and are looking forward to a performance today from the Rock Choir to really put the cherry on top!

Monday is World Alzheimer's Day and we thought we would join up with other like minded organisations to provide information on what support is out there. Please come along for a cuppa and a chat.

Yesterday’s Baking Club we made a chocolate tray bake with caramel icing and a caramel biscuit topping! Residents enjoyed this pudding in the evening with cream, custard depending on their preferences 🍰👩🏼‍🍳
