🍎👩‍🍳 Move Over, MasterChef… The Gables Has Entered the Kitchen! 😂

Things got a little crumbly in the kitchen today! 👨‍🍳🍓

Our residents got their aprons on and enjoyed making a delicious fruit crumble for dessert—and judging by the smiles, everyone was taking their role as professional chefs very seriously! 😂

There was plenty of chopping, mixing, sprinkling and, naturally, a little bit of quality control along the way… someone had to make sure the fruit tasted alright! 😉🍎

The room was filled with lovely conversations, laughter and the wonderful smell of something baking. ❤️

We're not saying the judges from MasterChef should be worried… but The Gables might have a few new contestants ready for the next series! 🏆😂

And the best part? We didn't just make dessert… we made it together. 🥰

Things got a little herb-y at The Gables today! 🌿🤣

Our residents put their senses to the test with a little guessing game—can you identify the herb? 👀🌱

There was plenty of sniffing, thinking and some very confident answers… although we're not naming names when the “definitely rosemary!” turned out to be something completely different! 😂

It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, sharing memories of herbs they’ve used in their own kitchens and having a good laugh along the way. ❤️

Who knew a few little leaves could cause so much serious investigation?! 🔎🌿

Who said dominoes was a quiet, peaceful game?! 😂🁢

Our two little visitors joined the residents at The Gables for a game today, and let's just say… the competition was REAL! 👀🤣

There were tiles being carefully studied, moves being planned and a few very serious faces around the table. We’re not saying anyone was getting competitive… but let's just say nobody wanted to lose! 😂

The best part? Our residents absolutely loved having the children join them, and the children seemed to be having just as much fun. ❤️

Different generations, one table, one game… and plenty of laughter! 🥰

We might need to organise a rematch soon… although we're not sure everyone is ready for it! 😂🁢

🐾☕ Costa Came to Visit… and Stole the Show! 😻

We had a very special visitor at Gables Residential & Care Home , and this one came with four little paws, a fluffy coat and absolutely no appointment in the diary! 🐾😂

Meet Costa the kitten, who joined us for a lovely pet therapy session. ❤️

It didn't take long for Costa to make himself at home. There were plenty of cuddles, gentle strokes, happy conversations and, of course, lots of “Awwww, look at him!” moments. 😍🐱

The smiles on our residents' faces said it all. Sometimes a little furry friend can bring so much joy, brighten someone's day and create those lovely moments that stay with us. 💕

Costa may have come for a visit… but we're pretty sure he left having made a whole new group of friends! 🥰🐾

Safe to say, Costa gets a 5-star review from The Gables! ⭐🐱

☀️ The Best Conversations Happen in the Sunshine ☕🍌💛

Today reminded us that happiness doesn't always come from grand plans... sometimes, it's found in the simplest of moments. 🌼

With the sunshine warming our faces, our lovely resident enjoyed outside at Gables Care Home a relaxing cuppa and a banana. ☀️☕🍌 Before long, he smiled and said, "Tea always tastes better outdoors!"

There were stories shared, laughter that carried through the garden, and peaceful moments where he simply enjoyed being together. No rush, no fuss—just fresh air, friendly faces and the joy of good company. ❤️

It's these little moments that make life at Gables so special. They may seem simple, but they're the moments that leave the biggest smiles and create the fondest memories. 🥰

There's something about an ice cream van that brings out the child in all of us—and at The Gables, it certainly did! 🍦😊

As soon as the trolley arrived, there was plenty of excitement as everyone chose their favourite flavours. From classic favourites to a few adventurous choices, every ice cream was enjoyed with a big smile.

A huge thank you to our amazing team for helping residents, sharing in the fun and making the afternoon so special. It's moments like these that turn an ordinary day into a lovely memory. 💙

The home was filled with laughter, conversations and happy faces as residents enjoyed their treats together in the sunshine. And yes… there may have been a few discussions about who picked the best flavour! 😄

Our beautifully refurbished rooms are officially ready, and we have to admit... they're looking absolutely stunning! 🤩 Fresh, bright, modern, and designed with comfort at the heart of every detail, they've had quite the glow-up! ✨🛏️

We can't wait to welcome new residents and their families to see them for themselves. From the moment you walk through the door, you'll find a warm, friendly home where comfort, compassion and companionship come together every single day. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making these rooms look so amazing. We think they've turned out beautifully... but don't just take our word for it—come and have a look! 👀

Today's biggest emergency? Choosing a flavour before it melted! 🍦😆

The ice cream van rolled into The Gables, and suddenly everyone became a professional ice cream critic! There were smiles everywhere, happy chatter, and just a tiny bit of "I wish I'd picked that flavour!" 🤭

A massive thank you to our wonderful staff for jumping in, helping everyone and joining in the fun. You all helped turn an ordinary day into a deliciously memorable one! 💙

We're pleased to report that: 🍦 Every cone was thoroughly enjoyed. 😋 Smiles were served in abundance. 😂 Brain freeze was considered a badge of honour!

Who says you need to travel to outer space to have an out-of-this-world day? 🚀👽

To celebrate World UFO Day, our residents at The Gables Retirement & Care Home settled in for a special screening of Superman! 🦸🍿

There were plenty of laughs, snacks, superhero moments, and maybe even a few debates about whether Superman is technically an alien... we're still waiting for the final verdict! 😂💙

Whether you're cheering for superheroes, keeping an eye on the skies for UFOs, or simply enjoying a great film with wonderful friends, there's always something exciting happening at The Gables.

💪🍽️ Working Hard for Our Lunch! 🍽️💪

Last Wednesday, our residents were put through their paces with the fantastic Joe from G.Fitness! 🏋️‍♂️✨

There was plenty of stretching, moving, laughing and maybe a few muscles discovered that hadn't been used for a while! 😄

By the end of the session, everyone agreed on one thing... all that exercise had definitely earned them an extra biscuit with their lunch! 🍪😂

A huge thank you to Joe for bringing so much energy, encouragement and fun to the morning. Keeping active isn't just good for the body – it's great for the mind and always brings plenty of smiles along the way. ❤️

Now the big question is... were they exercising for their health or simply building up an appetite for lunch? We're still not entirely sure! 🤔🍽️😆
