Sticking with our Royal Ascot theme, we’ve had a little Ladies’ Day of our own! ✨🐎

Yesterday, our ladies got creative making beautiful fascinators ready for race day on Friday.

A Birthday & The Royal Ascot! 🐎

First of all, yesterday we celebrated our wonderful Valerie’s birthday. From all of us here at Brookholme, we would like to wish her a very happy birthday! 🎉

Over the last two days, we’ve been getting into the Royal Ascot spirit by designing our very own racehorses and jockeys. Everyone has been busy creating their masterpieces ready for race day on Friday! 🏇

We’ve also come up with some brilliant horse names, including Fredtastic, A Mac, Red Rum and Slack Alice, just to name a few! We can’t wait to see them all lined up and ready to 🏁

Yesterday Hanif & Donna took the time to personally recognise and thank some of our long-serving team members for their unwavering dedication, commitment, and outstanding service to the care and welfare of our residents.

Each member of staff was presented with a certificate and a bottle of fizz as a token of appreciation for their years of service.

Carers Week Fun! 🤸‍♀️

As part of Carers Week, we swapped our uniforms for trainers and held a mini Sports Day for our staff!

Our residents had the best seats in the house, becoming our VIP spectators and cheering us on every step of the way! 👏

There was plenty of friendly competition, lots of team spirit, and even more laughter as staff gave their all in the races and challenges. Safe to say, some hidden talents were discovered and some definitely weren’t! 🤫

We’re also happy to report that all health and safety procedures were followed and no staff members were injured during the making of this Sports Day! 🤣🏅

Carers Week at Brookholme 💙

We’ve had a great start to Carers Week here at Brookholme!

Our residents helped create an Appreciation Tree, writing on the leaves what they appreciate most about life at Brookholme. We’ve also been treating our team with a sweets and treats trolley throughout the week.

Residents have enjoyed a variety of activities including coloured ball hoops, beanbag points toss, armchair exercises, and bingo.

We’ve also had a daily staff raffle, with Laythia winning on Monday and Chantelle winning today. The raffle will continue until Friday!

To top it all off, we’ve had some fun job swaps between staff and residents, which brought plenty of laughter to everyone involved! 😂

Today we enjoyed a game of Music Bingo with a personal touch! We created a playlist filled with all of our residents favourite songs and added them to our bingo tickets.

The activity was a huge hit with everyone singing along, swaying to the music, and even having a little boogie! 💃🎵

We’re not quite sure where we went wrong when making the tickets, but somehow everyone ended up winning… not that anybody was complaining! 🤣🏆

Today has been a busy and enjoyable day for us all!

Before we tell you about our afternoon activity, we’d like to wish our wonderful Anne a very Happy Birthday! 🥳 🎂

From everyone here at Brookholme, we hope you’ve had a fantastic day celebrating with us!

To round off the afternoon, our residents enjoyed a fun game of beanbag toss. The challenge was to throw the coloured beanbags into the matching coloured cones and then add up their scores.

Residents earned 1 point for landing a beanbag in any cone and 2 points for matching the beanbag to the correct colour cone 👏

National Biscuit Day 🍪

Of course we couldn’t allow a day like national biscuit day to go by without taking part!

Our residents enjoyed sampling lots of different styles of biscuits, with a complementary cup of tea for that all important dunk! ☕️
