A Beautiful Day of Friendship & Kindness ❤️🧶🍦

Today we welcomed Lisa and Denise from the Walton Knitters Group Chesterfield to Holmewood Care Home for a lovely afternoon of knitting, friendship, laughter and ice cream. 🧶🍦❤️

Together, we made beautiful blanket squares for children in need and celebrated Jean’s birthday, making the day even more special. 🎂🎉

It was wonderful to discover new family connections between our residents and Lisa’s friends, bringing our community even closer together. We look forward to meeting again each month and creating more meaningful moments together. ❤️

We were also very pleased to welcome Joanne, the wife of one of our former beloved veterans. One year after sadly losing her husband, we wanted to remind Joanne that she is not alone and that we are here to support and encourage her. ❤️

Amazing 👏 VJday day with Amazing people.
What an amazing and meaningful day we shared together as we remembered VJ Day and honoured the brave veterans who served and sacrificed for our freedom.
A very special thank you to Joe Roberts, ex-Royal Engineers and a member of the Veterans Hub Chesterfield & Buddy Buddy Veteran Group for accepting our invitation to visit Holmewood Care Home and for giving us such a beautiful and heartfelt speech about veterans, their service and the importance of remembering their stories. ❤️
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Lisa McKenzie, Director of Walton Knitter Group Chesterfield, who kindly joined us with Denise. Thank you for your encouragement, kindness and for bringing so many lovely gifts for our residents. 🎁❤️
It was truly a beautiful day filled with remembrance, friendship, stories and togetherness. We are so grateful to our relatives and friends for their continued support and for helping us make these special occasions so meaningful.
Today, and always, we remember our veterans with gratitude and respect. Because of their courage and sacrifice, we are blessed to live in freedom and liberty.
