Healthy New Me Looking after health and wellness through excellent nutrition and positive mental health messages

At Healthy New Me, I’m passionate about supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond — helping them feel healthier, more confident, and more connected. I focus on nutrition, mindfulness, and creating a strong sense of community, so no one has to go through this journey alone. With my background as a Registered General Nurse (RGN), Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN),

Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and Licensed Menopause Champion with the Menopause Experts Group, I combine clinical expertise with a compassionate, personal approach. Through group sessions, one-to-one coaching, online support, and in-person meetups, Healthy New Me offers flexible, tailored guidance to help women take control of their health and wellbeing — not just during menopause, but for the years beyond.

Today, I had the privilege of spending time with the SBC group at Macmillan Support Centre, Chesterfield, talking all things nutrition. 💗
For those who may not know, SBC stands for Secondary Breast Cancer (also known as Stage 4 or metastatic breast cancer). It isn't currently curable, but that doesn't mean these women are at end-of-life care. Many describe where they are as "the long middle" – living with cancer whilst continuing to live their lives, make memories, create, laugh, support one another, and advocate for others.
What struck me most was how warm, welcoming, funny, and engaged everyone was. We had some fantastic conversations about nutrition, well-being, and managing symptoms.
And, in true Healthy New Me style, no topic was off limits! 😆 We found ourselves talking about symptoms associated with medical menopause, including vaginal and vulval dryness, and I was able to share some practical hints and tips around hydration, tissue health and strategies that may help reduce discomfort, bladder weakness and recurrent UTI symptoms.
These women are some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting, and I left feeling inspired by their resilience, honesty, and generosity.
The group members are also incredibly talented artists and will soon be displaying their artwork in Sheffield. 🎨
Please do give a follow on Instagram to learn more about their journeys and to see some of their amazing artwork.
Thank you so much for welcoming me and trusting me with your stories today. 💕 It was an absolute privilege.

✨ The first week of our first ever Healthy Habit Focus Fortnight is nearly complete... and what a journey it has been! ✨
When many of our members first joined Healthy New Me's Breakfast Nutrition Club, their focus was often on weight loss. But over time, something much bigger has happened.
💚 They've rediscovered why their health matters.
💚 They've reconnected with their goals and values.
💚 They've started building habits that support not just their weight but their wellbeing, confidence, energy, and future health.

Over the past week, members have immersed themselves in daily coaching, educational videos, and reflective exercises designed to help them pause, think, and take action.

The feedback has been incredible. Members are telling me that:

✨ The coaching has helped them stay focused and accountable.
✨ The education videos have given them a deeper understanding of their health
✨ The daily reflections have reignited their motivation and helped them identify what really matters.

This isn't about perfection. This isn't about quick fixes.
It's about creating sustainable habits, understanding ourselves better, and making choices that support the life we want to live.
I am so proud of every single person who has taken part. Watching the shifts in mindset, confidence, and self-awareness has been an absolute privilege.
Healthy New Me has always been about more than weight loss. It's about helping people become the healthiest, happiest version of themselves—and this fortnight has shown exactly why that matters.
🌟 Small habits. Big changes. Lasting results. 🌟

I'll update you on how they got on in just over a week. I hope you wish them well moving into week 2 GO TEAM HNM!!!

What a fantastic day! 😊
Today I swapped my usual hoodie for my "corporate uniform" and headed to the Macmillan Unit to meet the nurses who run a local breast cancer support group ahead of my talk on Monday.
I spent time getting to know the team, seeing the space, discussing the needs of the group, and making sure the session content is exactly right for the people attending. As always, my aim is to provide practical, realistic nutrition advice that people can actually use during and after treatment.
The day was even more positive than I expected, with conversations opening up some potential opportunities for additional private and community work in the future. It's always exciting when one conversation leads to another and you realise there are even more ways to support people in your local community.
Most importantly, I'm now really looking forward to Monday. Meeting the team today has made me even more excited to share some simple nutrition tips and ideas that can help people fuel their bodies during a challenging time.
I've put together a little video of today's adventure, with a summary at the end, so grab a brew and have a watch! ☕️
Sometimes the best opportunities come from simply saying yes, showing up, and having conversations. ❤️

Swapped my usual signature hoodie for a white jacket today... feeling very corporate! 😊
Today I'm heading to our local Macmillan Unit to meet the wonderful nurses who run a breast cancer support group. I'll be speaking to the group on Monday about nutrition during and after treatment, sharing practical hints and tips to help people nourish their bodies through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
My focus will be on "food as fuel" — not perfection, not complicated diets, just simple ways to support health, energy, recovery, and wellbeing during what can be an incredibly challenging time.
Today's visit is all about making sure I get things right for the group: meeting the nurses, understanding the space, getting a feel for everyone's needs, and ensuring the content and delivery are pitched appropriately.
It's a privilege to be invited into these spaces and support people when they need it most. ❤️
Wish me luck for Monday!

"It's the little things in life that put it all in perspective..."

Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the next workshop, the next challenge, the next video, the next idea. But every now and then, a message like this lands in my inbox and reminds me exactly why I do what I do. ❤️

This is my passion.

I'm constantly thinking of new ways to connect with, support and educate our members. Whether it's Breakfast Club, workshops, Menopause Mayhem, Healthy Habits Focus Fortnights, videos, resources or simply being there when someone needs a nudge in the right direction, everything is created with one goal in mind – helping people regain their health, confidence and wellbeing.

I don't believe in quick fixes or empty promises. I believe in education, understanding, sustainable habits and honest support. Sometimes that support is gentle, sometimes it's challenging, and occasionally it's a little bit brutal! But it always comes from a place of wanting the very best for every single member.

Reading messages like this reminds me that the hours spent planning, creating and innovating are worth every second.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Seeing people reconnect with their health, remember how far they've come, and feel excited about their future never gets old. 🥰

This is so much more than weight loss, menopause or life coaching. It's about building a healthier, happier life, one small habit at a time. ❤️

A little reminder from someone who doesn't always take her own advice...
You HAVE to look after yourself first.
As women, mums, carers, partners, friends, colleagues, and business owners, we spend so much of our time looking after everyone else. But if we run ourselves into the ground, who looks after us?
The truth is that so many people rely on us. And when we go down, the whole deck of cards can start to wobble.
So today, please make yourself a priority.
💧 Hydrate well. 🍎 Fuel your body with nourishing food. 😴 Rest when you can. 🚶‍♀️ Move your body. 🥜 Keep healthy snacks close by for those busy days.
Looking after yourself isn't selfish. It's essential.
You deserve to feel well. You deserve to have energy. You deserve the same care and compassion that you give to everyone else.
Self-care isn't selfish. It's self-respect. ❤️

Just finished our 2nd live prep session for the Healthy Habits Focus Fortnight. Today was all about reflection. We have more videos and lives to connect with over this week and then into the fortnight which begins on June 8th SO EXCITED !!!

Confession time...
A week off my usual nutrition routine and my reflux has made an unwelcome return. 🔥
Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect our digestive system, and good nutrition really does help. That said, if you're experiencing new, persistent, or worsening digestive symptoms, please get them checked out. Don't automatically assume it's "just menopause."
As for me? A few sunny afternoons with my husband, a drink in hand, laughing, chatting, and putting the world to rights? ☀️❤️
Worth it.
Health isn't about never doing the things you enjoy. It's about making informed choices and accepting the occasional consequence.
Today: reflux. Last week: connection, laughter, and memories.
I'll take that trade. 😊

🏃‍♀️💨 Excuse me while I run into Zoom...
Tonight we're kicking off the first LIVE workshop of our Healthy Habit Focus Fortnight inside Healthy New Me!
Our members are spending the evening learning how to set effective health goals that actually lead to lasting change—not the unrealistic, all-or-nothing goals that get abandoned by the second week.
Over the next fortnight we'll be focusing on the small habits that create big results, with support, accountability, coaching and practical tools to help our members succeed.
As women navigating perimenopause and menopause, we're often told to "just lose weight", "try harder" or "have more willpower". The reality is that changing hormones can affect our energy, sleep, motivation, mood, appetite and confidence. That's why understanding how to work with your body, rather than fighting against it, is so important.
This is exactly why I created Healthy New Me. Not another diet. Not another quick fix. A community where women can learn, grow, improve their nutrition, and build healthier lifestyles that work in the real world.
If you're watching this and feeling fed up with hot flushes, poor sleep, low energy, stubborn weight gain, or simply not feeling like yourself anymore, know that you don't have to figure it all out alone.
And if you're watching this and wishing you had this kind of support on your own health journey... maybe it's time we had a chat. 😉💜
Now, I'd better get into Zoom before my members start without me!
