Mrs June Alice Ordidge of Inkersall has sadly passed away aged 88. Her daughter and her daughter's partner, Matthew were by her side.

June was born on High Street, Bolsover, on 3rd June 1938, the daughter of Walter and Mavis Yates. She was predeceased by brothers - John and Philip.

Before settling down to marry the late Geoffrey Ordidge, June spent some years working in a care home in Mablethorpe. She later worked at Smiths, Trebor, and then became a carer for the elderly. June then became a mother to Ian, Sharon, and Jane.

In her spare time, June loved Bingo, visiting garden centres, and coach holidays. She also loved going to church, listening to music, and socialising. June loved being with her family and friends and will be sadly missed.

June was predeceased by daughter - Sharon. She leaves children - Ian and Jane, daughter-in-law- Dennise, son-in-law- Matthew, grandchildren- Gemma, Amy, Aidan, Ryan, and Kieran, and great grandchildren- Brandon, Millie, Darcie, Gracie, Lydia, Alfie, Allana, Olivia, Zak, Ollie, Ezra, and Oscar.

A short act of Remembrance will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Friday 11th September at 8:40am.

Mrs Angela Isabel Ellis has passed away at Springbank House Care Home, Chesterfield aged 87.

Born in Worksop, Angela had been a resident of Derbyshire for 80 years. Having worked in a laboratory and as a doctor’s receptionist in her youth, she was always helping someone.

In her spare time, Angela loved baking, knitting, gardening, walking the dog, and making clothes with her trusty old sewing machine.

Angela was the widow of the late Kenneth Thomas Ellis. She leaves children – Ian, Neil, and Lucy, and grandchildren – Jacob, Esmae, Adam, Luke, Alex, and Isaac.

Angela’s funeral will take place at St Mark’s Church, Mansfield on Thursday 10th September at 1:30pm, followed by refreshments in the Church Hall.

Donations in Angela’s memory will be received on behalf of the Stroke Association, St Mark’s Mansfield, and All Saints’ Curbar.

Mr Thomas William Ankers of Bakewell has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 37.

Born in Stoke-on-Trent, Tom had lived locally for 32 years and had been employed as a chef.

In his spare time, Tom enjoyed pool, the driving range, playing dice and spending time with his family and friends.

Tom leaves daughters- Ellie and Kyla, and parents- Ian and Sue.

Tom's funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Tuesday 8th September at 1:30pm.

Mr Clifford Burrows of Inkersall has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 73.

Born in Chesterfield, Cliff was a lifelong resident of the area.

In his spare time, Cliff was a big Manchester United fan. He also loved dogs and liked to watch sports. He enjoyed feeding the birds and always took an interest in what his grandchildren were doing.

Cliff was predeceased by his wife- Jenny 15 years ago. He leaves sons - Darren and Ryan, step-son - Craig, daughter-in-law - Kerry, and grandchildren- Aimee, Percy, and Alfie.

Cliff's funeral will take place at Staveley Methodist Church on Friday 21st August at 12:30pm.

Mrs Leisha Monica Laughton of Tupton has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 94.

Born in Chesterfield, Leisha had lived in the area most of her life. Before retiring, she was a factory canteen assistant.

Leisha enjoyed family time, going out for dinner and watching darts and snooker. In her younger days, she liked holidaying in Bridlington, Great Yarmouth, and Scotland; and playing Bingo with her sister.

Leisha was predeceased by her first husband – Ernest Sibert in 1972 and her second husband – David Laughton in 2016. She was also predeceased by son – Glyn. She leaves children – Vicky and Vaughan, grandchildren – Brett, Jodie, and Sam, and great grandchildren – Jacob, Isabella, Sofia, and Oliver.

Leisha’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Monday 17th August at 9:45am. Family flowers only.

Mrs Rita Margaret Barnes of Staveley has passed away at home aged 92.

Born in Walsall, Rita had lived in this area for 80 years. She worked in retail locally until retiring.

In her spare time, Rita enjoyed dancing, swimming, knitting, reading and crosswords. She also loved holidays, cruises, and day trips.

Rita was predeceased by her husband – Ernest in 2013 and son Andrew. She leaves children – Lesley, Jackie, Martyn, and Shane, 7 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Rita’s funeral will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Wednesday 19th August at 9:45am.
