That’s challenge number one done for Deangate’s Rachael Addy!

Yesterday she abseiled down Liverpool FC stadium in the first of three challenges to raise money for the residents’ fund and for Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support (BIADS).

Residents and colleagues are so proud and can’t wait to hear about the next two challenges: scaling the o2 arena and bungee jumping from a 150 foot bridge!!!

Our very own Rachael Addy, Activities Coordinator at Deangate Care Home, is taking on the first of three incredible fundraising challenges: ABSEILING DOWN A FOOTBALL STADIUM tomorrow as part of her month of fearless fundraising for her residents activity fund and BIADS Barnsley.

After already conquering a skydive and even swimming with sharks in previous years, Rachael is raising the bar again to support experiences and activities for residents, while also helping families affected by dementia following her mum’s recent Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

Her courage, determination and big heart continue to inspire everyone at Deangate and across Hill Care. 💙

Over a hundred of our wonderful residents in the North East enjoyed a “mind blowing” interactive performance from professional dance group Spiltmilk.

The Sheffield-based performers made the two-hour trip to the North East to entertain, dance, and sing for residents at four Hill Care Group homes across the region.

They visited The Beeches in Stockton-on-Tees, Ingleby Care Home in Ingleby Barwick, Mandale House in Middlesbrough, and Hazelgrove Court in Saltburn-by-the-Sea over two days of shows.

Dozens of residents and colleagues at each of the homes were treated to dancing, live music and singing, and fantastical poetry, as they enjoyed the high-energy, Spring- themed performance designed to bring the outside in and connect with the change of season.

We’re incredibly proud of Rachael Addy from Deangate Care Home-Hill Care, who recently appeared on That's TV South Yorkshire to talk about her upcoming triple fundraiser and the inspiration behind it.

During the interview, Rachael spoke passionately about the residents she supports every day and why fundraising means so much to her. She also shared her personal connection to dementia following her mum’s diagnosis, adding an even deeper meaning to the challenge she is undertaking.
