Our Gardening Club has been very busy this week 🌿🌸 Residents have been planting begonias and busy lizzies, adding plenty of colour to our home. Our conservatory provides the perfect indoor-outdoor space to enjoy gardening, whatever the weather 🌼😊

🧘 Our weekly Tai Chi session is always popular with residents at Pinewood! 🎶

Led by Becky, a trained physiotherapist, the sessions include gentle armchair exercises and movement to music, helping residents stay active in a calm and enjoyable way. Becky has a wealth of knowledge and is able to adapt movements to suit each resident’s individual needs, ensuring everyone can take part comfortably and confidently. 🌟

🌍 Celebrating World Day for Cultural Diversity – 21st May 2026 🌍

What a busy and fun-packed day we had at Pinewood celebrating cultures and traditions from around the world! 🌎 Members of our staff team and the wider Pinewood community joined us to share stories, music, dance and traditions from their cultures.

Our residents enjoyed exploring different cuisines too, with a delicious Moroccan dish or Indian curry served for lunch, followed by a traditional Bulgarian sweet treat. 🍛🍰

The day ended with everyone learning a welcome phrase in the Nigerian language, bringing plenty of smiles and laughter along the way. 🇳🇬 It was wonderful to see staff, residents and relatives all coming together to celebrate diversity and learn something new.

🌸 Flowers bring so much colour and cheer to Pinewood, from the blooms in our gardens to the beautiful arrangements around the home. Our residents enjoy helping to create the floral displays, adding a lovely personal touch for everyone to enjoy.

Card making was the focus of last week’s creative session at Pinewood 🎨💌 Our residents thoroughly enjoyed designing and creating handmade thank you cards to send to visitors this month✨

Gentle exercise plays an important role in daily life at Pinewood 🧘‍♀️💚 From seated movement sessions to light activities, keeping active can help improve mobility, lift mood and encourage relaxation. Most importantly, it’s a lovely way to spend time together.
