Solar Eclipse Safety ☀️

Ordinary sunglasses, no matter how dark, do not provide adequate protection for viewing a solar eclipse.
They reduce glare, making it feel more comfortable to look at the Sun for longer, while still allowing harmful solar radiation to reach the retina. Never use regular sunglasses to look at the Sun during an eclipse.

If you're unwell but it's not life-threatening, our UTC team can treat patients aged one and over with:

Being hydrated has many benefits for both a person’s physical and mental health.

As we get older, the desire to drink fluids naturally decreases making the elderly more vulnerable to dehydration.

Dehydration can increase the risk of developing a urinary tract infection(UTI).

It is possible to develop an UTI any time of the year, but there is increased risk during the summer.

A red heat-health alert is in place across southern England and the Midlands. This means extreme heat could affect everyone, including healthy people, and may also impact transport, food, water and energy. This is only the second time a red alert has been issued, the last being in July 2022.
