When I was training to be a counsellor, my tutor used to say that even flowers bloom in the most difficult places (actually what I think he said was potatoes still grow eyes even in the cupboard!).

What he meant was that the urge to grow develop and self-actualise is so strong in humans that we can do it even when we're in the darkest place.

I genuinely believe that people are capable of doing amazing things and making incredible changes, and it's such a privilege to work with clients and see that unfold in front of my eyes.

Often, my work with clients explores the difficulty of dating in 2026, where apps are simultaneously the answer to our prayers and the stuff of nightmares.

Time and time again, people ask how you get offline and into the real world??

I was interested to spot this at , it seems like a really good way to meet people in real life.

Feel free to comment with your experiences of trying to date online - and any ideas for how to meet people in analogue.

If you need someone to talk to, we're here for you at TherapEast...

The World Cup kicks off this week, and while we prepare to cheer on England, we must also acknowledge the shocking rise in domestic violence statistics at this time.

Studies show that incidents of domestic violence increase by 38 per cent when England lose a World Cup game, and by 26 per cent when they win. There is also a link between alcohol consumption and sexual harassment which may cause concern for women and girls around match times.

We are committed to tackling all forms of abuse so we are using this opportunity to highlight the support offers available to residents:

• If there is an emergency or someone is in danger, please immediately call 999.
• 24/7 Freephone Domestic Abuse Helpline: 0808 2000 247.
• If you wish to contact Waltham Forest's domestic abuse service Solace Women's Aid, please call: 07340 683382. To make a referral, email [email protected]
• 24/7 R**e Crisis Sexual Violence Helpline: 0808 500 2222.
• If you are worried about your own abusive behaviour, and want support to change, please contact the Respect helpline: 0808 8024040

I've just binge-read this absolutely brilliant book in a hot weekend.

When her son is born, a mother goes to register his birth. In three connected stories, she gives him three different names, and the book is a beautiful imagining of how his three lives evolve.

If you've read Midnight Library or liked Sliding Doors, I would definitely recommend this 💖

🌭🍔🍕🔊🔊**Food Noise** 🔊🔊🍕🍔🌭

I've seen lots of posts recently about food noise, and how the new GLP1 weight loss jabs "turn it off".

Being totally honest, I've never really experienced "food noise" and I don't know what it sounds like.

I wondered what your experience of food noise was - what does that sound like for you? And what does it feel like when it goes away??
