💊Think you might have a urinary tract infection (UTI)? Your local pharmacy may be able to help

⚠️ UTIs are common infections that can affect the bladder, urethra or kidneys. Symptoms can include:
• pain or a burning sensation when p*eing
• needing to p*e more often or urgently
• cloudy or strong-smelling urine
• pain in your lower tummy

Through the NHS Pharmacy First service, eligible women aged 16 to 64 with uncomplicated UTI symptoms may be able to receive advice and treatment directly from a pharmacist without needing a GP appointment

Getting treatment quickly can help relieve symptoms and prevent the infection from becoming more serious

If symptoms are severe, you have a high temperature, back pain, are pregnant, or symptoms do not improve, you should seek further medical advice

Your pharmacist is highly trained and can advise on the most appropriate treatment for you

SCOF - Start Circle of Friends 🚘

A local charity providing a volunteer driver service for patients of the health centre

They drive patients who are otherwise unable to make their own way to medical appointments

There is no charge for using the service, but donations enable them to maintain the service and help to reimburse drivers for their mileage

What a fantastic service they provide for our patients, we are very grateful for all they do

GP Update - Dr Carnegy's Sabbatical

Having qualified as a doctor from the University of Edinburgh in August 2006, Dr Carnegy will be celebrating 20 years as a doctor next month.

To mark this milestone, he will be taking a well-earned five-week sabbatical from 3rd August to 7th September, during which he and his family will be returning to Canada. We wish them a wonderful trip and hope they enjoy this special time together.

During Dr Carnegy's absence, Dr Hannah Schneiders will be covering his sessions. Many of our patients may remember Dr Schneiders from her time with us as a GP Registrar a couple of years ago, and we are delighted to welcome her back.

Please continue to contact the practice in the usual way for both urgent and routine appointments while Dr Carnegy is away. Our team will ensure you are booked with the most appropriate clinician for your needs.
