This week we are happy to be giving a huge congratulations to our wonderful Residential Dementia Care Manager, Beth, on completing her Level 4 Lead Practitioner NVQ in Adult Care! 🎉👏

Beth has worked incredibly hard over the past year to achieve this qualification, demonstrating dedication, commitment and passion for providing outstanding care. We couldn’t be prouder of all that she has accomplished. 💜

As a valued leader of our dementia community, Beth makes such a positive difference to the lives of the people we support every day. Her compassion and dedication truly shine through in all that she does, and this achievement is so well deserved. 🌟

Today marked a very special milestone as we welcomed our first gathering named Poppies & Porcelain, a new community group created in collaboration with our wonderful sister home, Cotswold Gate Care Home, Burford.

The idea behind Poppies & Porcelain is simple but meaningful: to bring together veterans from our homes over a shared lunch, creating new friendships, strengthening our community and providing an opportunity to celebrate and support the veterans who live in our homes.❤️

Our first get-together took place here at Penhurst Gardens Care Home, where our veterans enjoyed a special lunch together in our Private Dining Room. And, with it being Bacon Lovers Day, our fantastic kitchen team certainly embraced the theme! 🥓

On the menu was a delicious Bacon & Caesar Salad followed by freshly made BLTs – the perfect way to get our new group off to a tasty start! 🥪

It was wonderful to see conversations flowing, stories being shared and friendships beginning to grow. We’re already looking forward to our next Poppies & Porcelain gathering at Cotswold Gate Care Home and all the special moments still to come. 🌺

Last week, we enjoyed a wonderful elephant-themed art session to celebrate World Elephant Day! 🐘

Our residents got creative as they tried their hand at sketching these magnificent animals, with some fantastic artwork taking shape. ✏️🖼️

Alongside our artistic talents, we also learnt lots of fascinating facts about elephants - from their incredible memory to their amazing family bonds!

💡Did you know? Elephants can communicate with each other using sounds that are so low-frequency - they can travel several miles! How amazing is that? 🌍🐘

A big well done to everyone who took part - we had a fantastic time getting creative and learning something new together! 💕🎨

We had a wonderful time enjoying a friendly game of bingo this week! Our residents got stuck in, with plenty of smiles, laughter and, of course, some fantastic prizes up for grabs. 🥳

Congratulations to all our lucky winners! We especially loved seeing Evie win a beautiful plant pot to brighten up her room , while Tisha was delighted with her brand-new scarf! 🏆🪴🧣💕

It was lovely to see everyone having such a fun time together. Well done to all of our winners - and better luck next time to everyone else! 🎉

🌞🌺 What a wonderful Summer Garden Party! 🌺🌞

After the success of our BBQ in June, our wonderful residents at Penhurst Gardens requested another garden party - and what a fabulous morning it was! 💃🎶

We were treated to fantastic Caribbean music from the incredibly talented jbsteelpan, followed by an incredible BBQ prepared by our amazing Kitchen Team. 🍔🌴🎵

Our lovely residents and their loved ones came together for a morning filled with dancing, singing, laughter and, of course, excellent food! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make today so special. 🌸☀️

A huge congratulations to our incredibly talented resident and artist, Lilian! 🌟🎨

We couldn’t be prouder of Lilian for having the courage to enter the Brailes Village Show last weekend. She entered the ‘Brailes Landscape’ category with her beautiful watercolour painting of a doorway in Brailes. 🏡🎨

Lilian spent hours carefully working on her piece, and all that hard work certainly paid off… she was delighted to be awarded 3rd place! 🥉👏

Lilian told us she had a fantastic day at the Show, enjoying looking at all the wonderful entries and, most importantly, spending precious time with her family. ❤️

We think her painting is absolutely beautiful and are so pleased to celebrate this wonderful achievement with her. Well done, Lilian, what an inspiration! 🌸🎨✨
