Protect yourself this winter – Flu and COVID Vaccines at Chipping Norton Health Centre 26/27.

Flu and COVID can both cause serious illness, especially in older people and those with long‑term conditions.

This year we will be offering:

NHS flu vaccines for eligible adults (including those aged 65+, people with certain long‑term conditions, pregnant women, carers and others in JCVI‑recommended groups).

NHS COVID vaccines for eligible patients, in line with national guidance. Those aged 75+, people with certain help conditions and all those who are resident in a Care Home.

Where possible, and when clinically appropriate, we will offer flu and COVID vaccines at the same appointment.

How to book

We will contact eligible patients by text or phone to invite you to book.
From 14th September (please do not contact us before). You can also contact the surgery or use the NHS App / National Booking Service (if available – we will confirm shortly) to arrange an appointment.
Clinics will begin in October and run predominantly on Saturdays to minimise disruption to our week day nursing appointments, which are in high demand currently.

On the day

Please wear loose clothing so we can easily access your upper arm.
You will be given information about the vaccines and have the chance to ask questions before you decide.
If you have had a serious allergic reaction to a vaccine before, please tell the clinician.
If you think you may be eligible but have not heard from us, please check the NHS website or contact the surgery to ask about flu and COVID vaccination.

Please regularly check our social media and website for updates.

Local Area Coordinator - Drop in session - Tuesday 16th June and Tuesday 28th July 2026.

Katrina - LAC for Chipping Norton, will be at the Health Centre on the above dates from 10am - 1pm.

What is a Local Area Coordinator? In Katrinas own words:

Local Area Coordination is a community-based service that helps people stay connected, informed, and supported. You’ll often find us out and about in the community – at local groups, cafés, and other familiar places. Our aim is to be approachable, friendly faces so that if you ever feel unsure where to turn, you know there’s someone you can talk to.

We work with individuals, families and carers who may be experiencing a challenge or change in their life to build confidence, reduce isolation and access the right support at the right time.
There is no time limit on support – we walk alongside you for as long as you need.

People come to us for many different reasons, including:
• Feeling lonely or wanting to build confidence
• Meeting new people or reconnecting with the community
• Life changes such as bereavement, retirement, or becoming a new parent
• Practical challenges like housing concerns, money worries, or day to day tasks
If something is getting in the way of you living the life you want, we can explore it together.

How We Work
We don’t offer quick fixes or ready made solutions. Instead, we walk alongside you – helping you build on your strengths, your relationships, and the resources around you. Everything happens at your pace and focuses on what matters most to you.

Why It’s Easy to Access
• No referral form
• No eligibility criteria
• You can approach us directly or be introduced by someone else

Supporting the Community
We also listen to what matters to local people, notice what’s working well, and help support existing groups to grow or new ideas to develop.

No need to book an appointment or contact Katrina in advance, just pop in on the day.
