🐔 A fun trip to the new Nando's in Chorley 🐔

Yesterday, Melissa took one of our clients out for lunch to celebrate the opening of the new Nando's here in Chorley — a venue he'd been looking forward to visiting since it was announced. It's always a pleasure to combine a working relationship with a bit of local celebration, and we're delighted to see new additions to the Chorley high street. Here's to supporting local business and looking after the people we work with!

An absolutely massive congratulations to our Angel Sarah for completing the Blackpool Run the Lights at the weekend to raise money for our local day centre, Fosterfields.

Sarah completed the course in 85 minutes and has raised over £750 beating her target of £500.

We're so proud of our wonderful caregiver Sarah Hargreaves, who's lacing up to run the Blackpool 10k this Saturday to raise money for Fosterfield Day Centre! 💛

Sarah's aiming to raise £500 to help provide trips and entertainment for the lovely ladies and gentlemen who attend the Centre in Chorley — a cause that means so much to us, as some of our own clients attend Fosterfields too.

A little independence goes a long way 💙

Did you know that for many of our clients, something as simple as a trip to the supermarket can be a real highlight of their week?

For clients who aren't able to shop independently, our carers make it possible for them to get out, choose their own items, and feel that sense of freedom again — rather than shopping online or handing over a list for someone else to do it for them.

And it doesn't stop at the shopping trolley! Many of our clients love finishing off their outing with a spot of lunch or a brew in the supermarket café — a lovely mid-week treat and a chance to have a proper chat and a change of scenery.

It's a small thing to some, but for our clients it's so much more — it's about choice, dignity, and feeling like themselves again.

That's what care is all about. 💙

Getting to this point is no small achievement. Over the last 3 months, they have both delivered outstanding care to her clients, all while completing:

One of the things we love most about home care is helping people keep doing what makes them them.

Every week, one of our wonderful clients heads out with their Visiting Angel for a coffee and a slice of cake at their favourite local spot — and honestly, it's the highlight of their week! It's not just about the cake (though we hear the scones are excellent 😉) — it's about independence, routine, and having someone to natter with over a cuppa.

That's what care at Visiting Angels is all about: supporting people to live life on their terms, one cup of coffee at a time. 💙
