📢UPDATE FROM OUR PATIENT PARTICIPATION TEAM📢

We have successfully raised funds through a Health Fair initiative to support the purchase of an aided chair. Coordinated fundraising activities, engaged participants and services, and we managed to generate financial contributions that enabled the purchase of an aided chair to improve mobility and comfort for our patients.

Please note that we have recently received a number of concerns regarding the MYGP App. Where possible, we advise patients to use the NHS App instead, as it integrates more effectively with our clinical system.

Please be aware that we are only able to make limited changes to app accounts. Therefore, if you experience any issues with the app, we kindly ask that you contact the app’s support team directly.

Dementia Action Awareness Week 2026 - 18th- 24th May💜

Dementia Action Awareness Week is a time to raise awareness, support those living with dementia, and encourage understanding within our community.
At Whittle Surgery, we recognise the importance of early support, compassionate care, and helping patients and families access the right services.
Did you know?
Dementia is not a normal part of ageing.
There are many types of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.
Early diagnosis can help people access treatment, support, and plan for the future.
Small acts of kindness and patience can make a big difference.

👉How we can help
Our team can support with:
Memory concerns and assessments
Signposting to local dementia support services

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week 11th May-17th May 💚
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week — a reminder that mental health is just as important as physical health.
At our surgery, we understand that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and support is available. Whether you are struggling with stress, anxiety, low mood, loneliness, or simply finding things difficult, please know you are not alone.
Looking after your mental wellbeing can include:
• Staying connected with family and friends
• Taking time for rest and self-care
• Being active and spending time outdoors
• Talking openly about how you feel
• Seeking support when needed
If you are finding things difficult, please contact the surgery to discuss the support available to you.
For urgent mental health support: 📞 NHS 111 – select the mental health option
📞 Samaritans – 116 123 (24 hours a day)
Together, let’s help break the stigma around mental health and encourage open conversations. 💚
