An Amber Heat Health Alert is currently in place across the East of England, including Essex, from 9am on Monday 3 August until 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2026.

During the high temperatures, it is important to take simple steps to stay safe and well.

Stay safe by:

💧 Drinking plenty of water
🏠 Keeping your home as cool as possible
🌳 Avoiding direct sun during the hottest part of the day
👨‍👩‍👧‍👧 Checking in on older relatives, neighbours and friends
⚠️ Knowing the signs of heat exhaustion

SEN Family Café is launching tomorrow – a warm, welcoming space for children and young people with additional needs, alongside the parents and carers who support them.
