Horses of all sizes benefit from regular musculoskeletal treatment — yes, even the little ones!😈

With the recent change in ground conditions from extremely hard surfaces to softer, more cushioned footing, horses are having to adapt biomechanically. These changes can place additional strain on muscles, joints, and supporting structures as the body adjusts to altered levels of impact and stability.

Small compensation patterns may initially go unnoticed, but over time they can contribute to:

-Changes in gait and movement
-Reduced performance
-Muscular tension and stiffness

Wow wow wow - Over 55 applicants for a sponsorship position!!

Thank you so much to each and everyone of you who has entered, I am starting to make my way through applications but I certainly wasn’t expecting this volume of response!🤪

I will do my best to get through them all and make a decision by the 1st of June, although I’m not making any promises as between final exams, assignments, a full time job and having 9 horses to care for I am running out of spare time🤣

“Ulcers are only a stomach problem…” said no horse ever 👀🐴

Did you know ulcers can have a massive effect on the musculoskeletal system too? Horses with ulcers will often brace and hold tension through the back, lumbar region, and pretty much their entire body as they try to protect themselves from discomfort. What starts in the stomach can quickly show up in movement, behaviour, performance, and overall tension levels.

Enter Thomas… my mum’s horse and currently been diagnosed with grade 4 ulcers, even being so stoic and giving hardly any symptom’s 💔

It was recommended that he has weekly treatments to help him feel more comfortable and get back to his best… honestly, good job I’m around really 🤣

During his session Thomas showed some amazing releases, especially through his back and lumbar area. There’s definitely still a long road ahead, but I’d say he enjoyed the relief considering he fully decided to have a nap afterwards and nothing says “that helped” quite like snoring halfway through recovery🤪
