Tomorrow we’re bringing a little Caribbean sunshine to Woodboro with our Rum & Reggae BBQ.

Music, Caribbean food for sale, and of course… Rum Punch. 🌞🎶🍹

After the week we’ve just had, it feels even more important. Our job is full of joy, laughter, and love but sometimes it also brings sorrow and heartfelt loss.

Moments that remind us exactly why we do what we do, and how privileged we are to care for those who once cared for us.

When someone leaves us, they leave a space in Woodboro that can never be filled.

So tomorrow, we celebrate. We come together. We smile, dance, eat, and remember that someone once told me:
“We’re here to have a good time… not always for a long time.”

Every Friday, our residents look forward to Fish Friday, and last week we decided to make it extra special.

We treated everyone to fresh fish & chips from Colin’s Fish & Chip Shop and let’s be honest, nothing beats a proper fish and chip Friday!

Crispy fish, warm chips, and lots of smiles all around. It’s the simple pleasures that make the biggest difference, and our residents absolutely loved it.

🌼 Out & About With Jackie🌞

Some of our lovely Residents have been enjoying getting out and about over the last few weeks, whether that’s a sunny trip to the seafront for an ice cream or a peaceful wander around the local gardens.

They absolutely love their adventures with Jackie, and it’s been wonderful seeing the smiles, the stories, and the fresh air doing everyone the world of good.

Here’s to many more little outings that make big memories for our our Woodboro family.

Well… I’ve finally counted up the pennies from last month’s Cake Sale, what can I say, I was far too busy sunning myself in Turkey and then catching up with the chaos once I got home.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated cakes, baked their hearts out, and came along to buy (and happily demolish) them.

You lovely lot helped us raise a massive £357!

Every penny will be going towards new fence panels and bits for the garden to make it even nicer for our residents. We’re so grateful for your support, always.

And of course… a special shout‑out to my sidekicks who helped me serve all day, and to the secret bakers who kept those tables full, you know exactly who you are 💛

Our Summer Bash & BBQ is back on Tuesday 18th August at 12:00, and we’re buzzing to share that this year’s theme is something truly special.

We’re keeping the theme under wraps for now not because we’re being mysterious (well… maybe a little), but simply because we want to reveal it in our own way, at our own time, without anyone getting there before us.

All will be revealed on the day, and trust us, it’s worth the wait.

What we can promise is:

Sunshine vibes.
Great food.
Good music.

And that unmistakable Woodboro energy.

🕗 Shift Details:
• 2 nights per week (8pm–8am)
• Includes every other weekend
• 24 hours per week

💼 Duties Include:
• Providing personal care with dignity and respect
• Supporting residents with daily routines
• Carrying out cleaning and laundry tasks
• Creating a safe, comfortable environment

💷 Pay: £12.71 per hour

A few weeks ago, our residents enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at the theatre watching Neil Sands and his wonderful musical show.

There was plenty of singing along, smiling, and reminiscing the kind of feel‑good entertainment that lifts everyone’s spirits.A perfect afternoon spent with friends, music, and memories. 🎶💛

Our lovely Residents Kit & Josie had a whole family affair today her handsome great‑grandson and granddaughter popped in, along with Kit’s daughter.

And to make it even more special, Kit’s sister Josie her sister is here to share the moment too.

Generations together, sisters side by side, laughter filling the room… it’s exactly the kind of day we adore. Family time truly is the best time. 💛
