π¨A red heat-health alert has been issued for the South West for Wednesday and Thursday.
We're already seeing high temperatures across the region, with extreme heat on the way over the next few days.
Anyone can be affected by hot weather, but older adults, young children, people with long-term health conditions, and those taking some medications are most vulnerable.
Please take extra care in the heat and remember to:
π§ Stay hydrated
βοΈ Keep out of the sun at the hottest time of the day, between 11am and 3pm
π Keep your home cool by closing windows and curtains in rooms that face the sun
𧴠Wear sunscreen
π§’ Cover up with suitable clothing, including hats and sunglasses
π€ Check on vulnerable friends, family and neighbours
β Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and what to do if you or someone else has them - search NHS heatstroke.
